Out of all events related to Tetris, besides the fact that the game is a quarter of a century old, is definitely the announcement of the 25th anniversary of Tetris for the iPhone. In celebration of this milestone (and let’s be real, there are not a ton of game franchises that can say that), EA showed off a special 3-minute documentary of the history of the game.
Think of this as a brief, Cliff Notes guide, to the history of Tetris. Seriously, there was enough drama in the creation of our favorite block-dropping game to force BBC to make a gem of a documentary of Tetris called From Russia with Love. Sure, this documentary isn’t it, but it’s definitely interesting.
tetrisfriends.com to anyone who remotely likes this game. I LOVE TETRIS FRIENDS. Give it a shot. All the unlockables are a lot of fun and it's FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE TETRIS WOOOOOOT
I remember watching a episode of Icons on tetris back in the day. The legal battles between nintendo vs tengen and getting it out or russia was intense. I would love to see a documentry about it.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
This is the first time I've seen Alexey in any video. There's something about him I really like. He comes across as very humble and sincere. :)
