E3 09: Tatsunoko Vs Capcom video interview photo

Got a butt-kicking interview here with Capcom's Seth Killian on the development and localization of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, and a little bonus stuff with Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder at the end. I'm still pissed/jealous that Heder got a T Vs C shirt and I didn't, and when you hear how into the game he is, you'll understand why.

Oh, and a little bonus tidbit; Seth told me off camera that it's not impossible for the 2-3 additional Capcom characters that may (or may not) make there way into the Western release of T Vs C to be decided via an online poll. So keep your eyes peeled for that and all other T Vs C news, which could be hitting these internets any time now. 

Hit the jump for the full video, and please let Seth know via the comments section which Capcom characters you'd like to see added to the game. More than anything, he's aware that T Vs C is "for fans, by fans", and I know that he and everyone at Capcom want to carry that spirit into the game's Western release.

I would LOVE to see Dio Brando in MVT.

Phoenix Wright would make a hilarious joke character. Imagine if one of his specials is a huge "OBJECTION!" with reaction shots from the Ace Attorney series if he lands it.

First, I'm oddly thrilled that (according to those videos) Ken and Jun are retaining their Japanese names. If they ended up being "Mark" and "Princess" in the localization, I might've punched somebody in the kidneys.

Second, expanded roster? Heck yeah! TvC: Championship Edition! While everyone will of course be throwing out Capcom names (Rad Spencer, Arthur, Tron Bonne), he said they're gonna make it even on both sides. While I doubt they'd ever get the rights to it, I think we can all agree that it'd be awesome to see the Mach 5 roll onto the screen.

Bionic Commando. He's well equipped for it. Just gotta figure out some way to circumvent the lack of jump. We could always just assume he was lazy in the original game.

Seth said something like potentially five new characters for the game, with one Tatsunoko character to be removed (the Genie, I think), which means three new Tatsunoko characters and two new Capcom characters (maybe).

If that does end up being the case, my vote is for...

Frank West (with Mega Man, Roll, and Bionic Commando costume change supers)

Sure, there are tons of other Capcom characters I'd also like to see (like Phoenix), but Frank and Zack (and Wiki) are my top pics for this particular game.

ALso, Haggar and Frank West are amazing. Some Resident Evil love would be cool, Bionic Commando would be sweet. Ace Attorney would be awesome too. Also, I'd be down for Amingo to make a comeback. He's kinda like Capcom's failure of a character, seeing as he was introduced in MvC2. Let's see him come back!

I don't really have any interest in Tatsunoko's characters (but I'm willing to learn!), but the inclusion of any characters from the Ace Attorny series and/or the Merchant from Resident Evil 4 would guarantee a purchase of the game for me.

TvC needs Strider Hiryu and Jin. They would mesh well with the Tatsunoko characters and both feature flowing scarves.

I would love to see Leon from Resident Evil, and Dante from Devil May Cry. Leon will soon be making another appearance on the Wii in Darkside Chronicles, and Resident Evil characters have worked in other Capcom fighting games.
Dante is just MADE for crossover fighting games like this.

Here's my top three most wanted Capcom characters:

1. Amaterasu Okami (Okami) - I really want to see how they would pull this one off. Also the more Clover characters, the better.

2. Leon S. Kennedy (RE) - Come on! No Resident Evil representative in this game? You got to be kidding!

I would love to see Speed Racer or Racer X in the game. Doubt its gonna happen, but it would be sweet. Amaterasu is a must, and I love your idea of Zack and Wiki, Holmes. Truly, you are a genius.
