Scribblenauts is the kind of game I would have loved to experience as a kid. In case you didn't read up on Anthony and Ashley's discussion of the 5th Cell-developed DS title, you type (or write) words and the game magically creates whatever object you wanted in an overly cute art style. Then, you use said object to solve puzzles.
Assuming the database of potential objects in Scribblenauts includes virtually every type of random thing players could think to try using, and it's sounding like that's a definite possibility, it will pretty much be the greatest thing ever for us imaginative types.
In the game's E3 trailer, we get to see the whale puzzle Anthony used a rock and a net to solve. Personally, I would have used an explosive device to blow the whale to safety, but in the trailer they used a bulldozer. Amateurs.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Hmm seems promising but what would make this game perfect would be either if you could get more words online through wi-fi or if you could make your own stuff to add that wasn't already in the games vocabulary
@Wolverine: There's an "ABC" button on the screen which leads to a manual keyboard, so you can type in what you want if your handwriting is really that bad.
I love 5th Cell. As much as I could never play Drawn to Life for fear of never actually playing the game for spending too much time trying to draw a perfect little character, I just absolutely fell in love with Lock's Quest and Scribblenauts looks amazing. I can't wait to play this.
The only complaint I have with this game is how you control your character. I don't think I ever voluntarily controlled a DS video game character using the stylus, but in this game that's your only option and sometimes it gets terribly frustrating sometimes to make your character stand in a specific position only to see him have a convulsion.
I know that started out bad, but the game is really really fun and creates endless entertainment trying to come up with new ways to solve the puzzles. For example, in one stage you have to knock bottles off a table. Instead of throwing a "ball" I summoned a "human cannon" to accomplish the task.
Other than the odd controls at points, the game is great and I recommend it cause it's such an original game idea. Definitely something to add to your DS library.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
