For those of you who want to relive the magic of Kojima speaking and moving, especially when it comes to him talking about Metal Gear Solid in Japanese, then boy, have I got a treat for you. Now, while you sit and eat your Chocolaty Rice Crisps for breakfast, you can hear Kojima's announcement in the full.

And, the 'true sequel' and 'deeply involved' parts were definitely him showing his love and support of everything Sony.
Is he directly involved in the Rising game coming out, specifically writing?
Also, is it me or do all of his premier trailers w/gameplay have some sort of homosexual comedy in them? Grabbing the crotch of a statue and then turning on camouflage? Sharing a box with your clone?
After the Sony conf it was all like, yay Kojima knows who his friends are, I don't blame him for scoring some of M$'s cash, fair do's, specially as Sony is still his true love!

I just do NOT what a watered down 'franchise'. Not getting MGS4 is understandable, but not getting the real games that ARE possible (in under 4 discs) is essentially like saying "MGS *spinoffs* coming to 360". Thats unforgivable to me.
And yes, I do believe that's exactly what it is; A token MGS game to shut up Don Mattrick.
I think the stuff he said for Microsofts presentation was very short, right?
also, I could be 100% wrong but I think Japanese male culture is just different from Western culture in how they interact with each other.
However, I wonder if developing for the PSP was his decision or if Sony influenced it. I don't think releasing the PSP Go without a solid (pardon the pun), new title would move any units (especially when you consider the fact that the PSP Go is going for $250 (holy hell!). If Sony wanted to keep the price high and still attract first-time PSP [suckers]buyers, then they'd need some hot, new title(s) to push along with it. Had Sony not planned for the PSP Go, maybe Peace Walker would've been a PS3 title, instead.
Just a thought.
Anyhow, I'd most likely buy a PSP-3000 to enjoy Peace Walker on. I'm really intrigued to see how things unfolded 30 years ago between Big Boss, Solid, Liquid and Solidus.
