E3 09: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is cute photo

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games have been pretty okay by me. They're at least something different than the normal formula, and I really like being able to take that little peek into the world of wild Pokemon. They totally exploit my weakness for cute creatures working together to help other cute creatures.

But what's weird about this game is that it seems to be a third addition to last year's tandem release of Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. All other Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games have been released in twos. Whether or not Explorers of Sky is just a expansion of the two earlier titles with just a little extra stuffing or has enough extra content to stand out on its own, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. For now, here are a bunch of screenshots and pieces of official artwork to help you get your daily dose of adorable.

That's not all! If you're interested, go ahead and hit the jump for the accompanying press release.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

I actually enjoy mystery dungeon as it's probably going to be the closest we get to attacking and battling in a non-turn based manner in Pokemon (Though it basically is turn based but a little bit quicker) but the series seemed to always take it's self too seriously in the storylines and I just know the extra story will just add to that. They should make a mystery dungeon game where you just roam about saving people and junk as a pokemon with none of that EPIC BATTLE stuff attached

I hate these games, they're annoyingly difficult and way to grindy and you're always gimped by your weakness, well that and the fact that you can't evolve till you beat the damn game.

I'm still going through Explorers of Darkness. I suck at pacing.

We're whalers on the moon.
We carry a harpoon.
But there ain't no whales, so we tell tall tales and sing our whaling tune.
