E3 09: Nick saw the Zelda concept art, now you can too photo

I gotta say good sirs and madams, I agree with Chad: Zelda is awesome. Any time that theme comes on I just turn into a ball of Zelda fanboy mush. It's far too easy to get geeked over every little bit of information about anything to do with Link and his adventures. For instance the above concept art is simply one piece of concept art that tells us almost nothing, and yet being able to see it is one of the best things that came out of E3 for me.

Nick already got a peek at this because he's special and people invite him cool places, but now it is everyone else's chance to open up the flood gates of speculation. Could that strange looking woman be Zelda herself or could it be the Master Sword in human form? Who knows, but the new adult looking Link makes me a little excited and as a fan of almost every Zelda ever it's hard not to dream of the fantastic that could be coming. Maybe if Miyamoto stopped checking out the competition and got back to work we'd get this quicker.

I can't tell you people how excited I am for this game. I just freakin' love Zelda.

But you know what I really want to see in this game? An orchestrated soundtrack. Make it happen, Koji Kondo!

Somehow it made me think of a Zora when I first saw it, but a sword is much more likely.

I'll say it again, I want this to be a Link-centered adventure like Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening. Those games are the most interesting.

Maybe it's a new sword this time?

He's right handed again. Curse that dreaded waggle Wii. I prefer my Link left handed, but meh. Anything Zelda related gets me excited.

Prequel explaining how the Master Sword was forged? Something tying together TP and WW?

I'm really excited, this could be an awesome twist on the formula!

So it's TP Link without a sword and a Wind Waker Fairy.
Neat.

Kinda upset it looks exactly like Twilight Princess, but oh well. At least it seems more colorful. Still hoping it has a unique style, like Prince of Persia did.

Interested in seeing exactly why he has no sword and if this girl relates to that. It does seem like her crystal thing and shawl are designed to match the Master Sword's hilt. And notice she's standing where the sheath would be on Link's back. Maybe she's like Zangetsu from Bleach? The embodiment of Link's sword.

I think her resembling the Fairy Queen from WW is a conscience. The fairy doesn't have that "third eye" thing on her forehead.

That's a mildly pleasant surprise. Hopefully they fix all the problems TP had.

Still getting a Majora's Mask vibe, and every time I see it I get more excited. Also, the girl is definitely the spirit of the Master Sword.

Lame. I want to see Link evolve, not whatever dumb bitch he's saving this time. Link looks exactly the same as he always does. This image tells me nothing about how the series could change.

You know what I would like to see a Zelda game where you actually play like Zelda, you know some sort of a quest where she is the one that has to do the saving and stuff, kinda like that Sheik.

Aww man, I too want a kid Link... Or a proper old Link could be cool. I just really didn't like TP's Link. I'm just gonna hope they drastically change the art direction at some point to make it look a little interesting.

Master Sword girl looks kinda interesting, although again I'm hoping she isn't an annoying partner character.. stupid partner characters...

I'd want a Lefty Flip. Then left-handed people (or purists) could really be Link then!

As much as I look forward to plain a new Zelda game, I kind of wish this was one of those things that was kept underwraps until we were much closer to a release. Aside from the train of tears regarding mere concept art and dissappointed expectations (rightfully so, right? We wants what we wants), I know that I'll probably hear nothing else about this for the next year or so.

That said, busting out Link to be more defense/co-op oriented doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world.

@Snacks n Candy

Just because the concept art is similar to that of Twilight Princess, doesnt mean that the game itself has to look the same. If you play TP again, you'll notice that Link doesn't look entirily the same as in the concept art. In the art he looks pretty tough, while in the game he looks kinda goofy.

Anyway, I hoped for another cell shaded game, but I don't mind the realistic style. I just hope they add some colours in this time around.

Lol at the guy who said he wanted a Zelda-focused Zelda game. There was one back on the Phillips CD-i, and we all know how that went.
