The hot news for today is not Nintendo related. Everyone's talking about about Natal and Metal Gear and loads of other Microsft news that could very well blow all our minds. But what about all the people out there that will never, ever, ever like anything that Microsoft does... ever? What are they supposed to talk about today?
How about this new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers trailer? It's got violence and pain and even a little Space Harrier-looking section that is looking fairly awesome.

Meet the rest of the team
As a fan of the original Crystal Chronicles, I give this two massive thumbs down.
The original was good because it was unique from the rest of the FF series, it was nonlinear and had a totally different feel to its world, this game just looks like another linear FF game with boring protagonists who all seem to have really annoying voice actors.
Looks like a lot of effort has gone into the story, as generic as it is. I`m definitely open minded about this, could be a good action-fantasy romp through this particular pseudo final fantasy universe. The whole 'you`re a crystal bearer? Oh yuck!' schtick could grate though, and hardly seems original. Awwww, poor, isolated crystal bearer!
It's hard to be excited given the shaky history of this "franchise" as it were, but everything I've seen makes me more interested in this than FF XIII by a long shot. And I am fucking LOVING the music for it so far.

From what I gather, this will play more like Kingdom Hearts than a traditional Final Fantasy game.
