Well, what do you know! Monado: The Beginning of the World is an action RPG for the Wii, with a solidly Japanese aesthetic and pretty cool visuals. We don’t exactly know too much that’s going on with this one, but it looks like it’s a game from the Kingdom Hearts school of action slashing fun.
While I’m not exactly the biggest fan of games that place you in the role of some doe-eyed teenage boy who discovers the “power within” to overcome the overwhelming authoritarian, I’m fairly impressed with the general art style of the game. I mean, this is the Wii we are talking about! Coupled with the Square-quality graphics, edgy enemies and billowy music, I’m feel like I’m watching Final Fantasy XII for the Wii. And who knows, maybe this game can get the gameplay to follow up the visuals.

It's a new IP from the team that made Disaster: Day of Crisis, Monolith Soft. They are first party Nintendo developers, so you would think it would have been part of the Keynotes.

I mean, Wii really could use more RPG-style games. It's got Tales of Graces (also yet to be released in US), The Last Story (also no US release date yet), Zelda (if you count those as RPG), and Monster Hunter Tri. That's just about it. I'm not counting that tales of symphonia sequel or the final fantasy crystal thing, cuz I heard those sucked.

There is nothing labelled aside the Nintendo Wii fanfare at the end, but I kinda doubt it is Nintendo itself who is making it. Or is it?

A shame that Nintendo left out a lot of content from their PC.
