Only an idiot would deny that Microsoft rocked E3 yesterday. Regardless of whether you love or hate the company, they provided a barrel load of crowd pleasing announcements and a load of stupid sh*t, which is pretty much what you want from a good conference. Despite blowing a huge load yesterday morning, however, Microsoft's Shane Kim promises that more is on the way.
"We didn't put every Microsoft Game Studios game that's coming out this year on stage, so I don't think you can use that as the only proxy," he explains. "But there's no question that we have tremendous third-party support."
Microsoft went from having no real upcoming games to a fantastic number of hot exclusives, and it'll be interesting to raid the show floor and see what else they have. It'll also be interesting to see what Sony counters with this morning, considering the fact that its biggest announcement was leaked, and more or less disliked by the majority of our readers.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
But seriously, I really may have to get a 360 (3 years late lol) if everything shown will be working as advertised. That said, it rarely does, but still...

Oh, so you've already SEEN Sony's press conference? You know this was their biggest announcement?
Jim makes me a sad panda.
It seems to me like they had a LOT of stuff, but none of it was particularly interesting and exclusive.
Now Alan Wake, Shadow Complex, Halo ODST (OSTD), HALO Reach (2010), Forza 3 (Best racing game?), none of that raised my interest by 1% on the xbox I own.
Out of the WHOLE press conference, only a few things I liked, Natal, Conviction, Map Packs for MW2 timed exclusive for Xbox and Crackdown2(after it passes the CGI state).
"Only an idiot would deny that Microsoft rocked E3 yesterday", It didn't rock (besides the Beatles part, LOL), it was okay, I know xbox fanboys asking, "That was it?" "Where are the games?"
The 'I'm a cynical old git' comment of the day award goes to...
Watching Ubisoft later in the day really put it in context, they were dreadfully boring, and made MS look electric in comparrison.
Nintendo's conference was kinda boring but it pumped out several mario games and ended with team ninja's Metroid and that was awesome! Nintendo sure knows how to hold a secret. Now I'm hoping Sony still has a secret or 2 up its sleeves.
Nintendo just promised more of the same and at least three big first party titles for the Wii. Their awkward moment "it's one of those biofeedback things from the airport/hospital" was not nearly as ridiculous as Ravi Drums and the ten mintues of coporate people spazzing out to horrific noise in last years Wii music. They have Wii motion plus promo videos that resemble Nike ads. They did alright. If you want a new Mario Galaxy a new Super Mario with four player simultaneous couch coop, and a new Metroid with team Ninja instead of Retro at the helm then you are probably a happy little duck right now. They did good. They should improvement from last year.
MS similarly brought out two scoops of favorite, mentioned that Epic still loves them enough to hand them an XBLA game, announced MGS:Get!, showed us a technoabomination, and what looks like the next step in fitness/immersion games witha nice tagline of "you are the controller. They got what's left of the Beatles, Steven Spielberg, fan favorite Alicia Day, Facebook, Twitter, and Kojima out on stage. They showed Alan Wake gameplay. The showed a major damned uopgrade in Forza. There was no Duffy, or lizard movie wackiness. They covered their bases and improved massively on last year.
Now we get to see what Sony brings to this tango.
This has been an AWESOME E3 and the damned thing JUST got started!
Think about it this way: There were very few games to look forward to this year, now there are a few genuinely awesome looking games that are coming out. Just think about how MS went from nothing to something in 2009 in just one conference. If you put it like that, you'll realize that they had a pretty good conference.
