E3 09: LEGO Harry Potter no longer a rumor photo

Much to no one’s surprise, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games will be releasing LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 in 2010.

The title is pretty much what you’ve expect, putting players in control of LEGO versions of Hogwart’s usual suspects – Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, along with other characters from the first four books. The action-adventure will allow you to do exciting things like cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and… attend lessons. That last one sound less exciting, but Harry Potter fans shouldn’t complain too much, as it’ll give them a chance to explore cutesy versions of seeing like Hogwarts castle, Diagon Alley, and more.

No platforms were mentioned in the announcement, but much like all of the other LEGO games, we expect it to be available for everything known to man.

Since I like the Lego games and Harry Potter, this should be good...

Yeah, I can see enough potential in the concept to at least give it the benefit of the doubt. It'll probably be better than than Lego Indy 2.

Sweet, something for my mum to play on her DS.

That sentance was not meant to be as condescending as it sounded.

This game's overdue. I was totally shocked when they went after Indiana Jones and Batman before this.

Now we just need Lego Spider-Man, and all the bases will be covered.

Stop now please, for the love of God! Just because Lego Star Wars was such a hit does not give you the right to mess with Guitar Hero & Harry Potter you buttholes!

why won't these lego games just die?

This just reminds me how immature the gaming crowd can be. Obviously the Lego games are meant for kids and we whine about how horrible they are and how they should die, when they are in fact some of the better games aimed at kids. It's better to have kids playing this than something like Imagine Pet Sitter or whatever crap other people are putting out. At least we have a gaming brand in Lego that kids can get for all systems that Parents will buy and aren't put together in 5 minutes.

@ pd771

i grew up playing games like SMB3, zelda and metroid. quality games. i think kids deserve better than a bunch of lego tacked onto a popular franchise, and it's not like they can't have better either.

@psycho terror 2

It's not like game like Ratchet and Clank, Metroid, and Mario cease to exist because of LEGO games. They're better than the average kiddie game, parents recognize the LEGO and feel like it's safe to buy, and kids like the tie-ins. I wish they had Lego Rock Band or Lego Harry Potter so my parents wouldn't have bought me things like Home Alone 2 the game.

Tbh, I'm not that surprised about it.

I think with all the LEGO game remakes they were doing lately (Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones etc), Lego Harry Potter was inevitable as a video game announcement. I think it could be decent.
