Well, here we go: Kojima's new project is Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which will featuring Raiden as the main character. With the tagline of "Lightning Bolt Action," we now have the start of the Metal Gear franchise on the Xbox 360. That's all the word Kojima had to say as he came onto the stage to speak to the Microsoft panel crowd.
So, no, it's not Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360.

El Segundo, Calif. - June 1, 2009 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., announced today that Metal Gear Solid: Rising is currently in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft - the first Metal Gear Solid game to launch on the Xbox 360®. Raiden, one of the most popular characters in the Metal Gear Solid universe, will star in the all-new title from Hideo Kojima. Raiden first debuted in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system as a playable character and appeared as a non-playable cyborg in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Playstation 3 fan much?
I am exploding at all this news. I need a new heart.
Not so sure I really wanted to play as Raiden again, though. It didn't go so well the first time. I was naked by the end of it... but, if this game involves a spectacularly nonsensical series of codec messages from the colonel, I'm for it.
I know that this is not a very friendly thing to say but :"I'm happy that MGS4 is only for the PS3"
Is not a very nice sentiment, but on my defence I do want my PS3 to be worth something.
I agree, its nice to sit and watch these conferences knowing you can buy whatever you like. Provided you have the money.
I wonder if it will feature Avatars?
The series is wonderful. Nice to see that it is spreading among so much consoles. As a non-PS3 owner, it makes me happy, but I also think it's kind of unfaithful to the(probable) people out there who bought their PS3s mainly for his latest work of art. While going multi-console would seem more reasonable, this approach might be good to the whole industry, providing unique experiences depending on the console you play Metal Gear.
By the way, Raiden became pretty cool in MGS4. I never hated him as much as most of the fan base and I actually find him pretty likeable by now.

They sold almost 5 mil MGS4's on the ps3 so I don't think anyone thinks this is exclusive.
