Not to leave Sony out in the cold, Hideo Kojima announced Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at the Sony Press Conference. The title, a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3, takes place ten years after the events of the game, will be taking place on the PSP.
"It's a true sequel of the Metal Gear franchise," said Kojima, saying that he is deeply involved in the game, as he will be writing the script, producing the game, and the main Metal Gear Solid 4 team will be working on this project. The game, from what we can see in the trailer, is based around Big Boss' establishment of Outer Heaven.
The game is going to have all the feeling of a Metal Gear title, Kojima says, but adding in the elements that are native to the PSP for a special experience. Kojima really took some time to pump up this game, and it seemed like that he was taking a swing at Metal Gear Solid: Rising, in his emphasis how this is a real title.Just an amusing little note from him.
This seems like to big of a game to be shoved on a system no one cares about.I love my PSP,but playing huge epic games on portable devices for long periods of time is not something I enjoy.Maybe this will at least be a PS3 download.
I thought Portable Ops came before PW cause didn't he first meet Campbell and recruit soldiers during PO, thus leading to Peace Walker and the rise of Outer Heaven?
I would much rather play the "fake" metal gear sequel on a console then feign to stealth-fully fumble around with Snake on the psp's ridiculous nub joy stick. It's not like we don't already know what happens at the end of the story anyway. Maybe I'm just bitter because my psp got stolen last week but this game could be great if it was on a console.

I wonder if the MGS Rising will be more focused on actio...not like a DMC or Ninja Gaiden...but still something on this directionn...I mean..Raiden on MGS4 was all about kick ass ninja ownage and know a solo game with him and the tag line if Lightning Bolt Action...
Actually you're not alone there buddy. While some people despise the Ac!d series, I think it was a clever idea to make a shift from Action/Adventure/Stealth to a turn-based card game. I would have loved to see a "real-life" set of MGA cards, counting the fact that Konami is/was backing the Yu-Gi-OH card game, so the guys have a bit of experience on that.
Anyway, Peace Walker looks like an interesting title and alongside GranTurismo Mobile are going to be my main reasons for buying a PSP

Me too, my PSP is broken and I don't want to have to fix it in order to play this. I hope it gets re-released on PS2 also.
