E3 09: Jade Dynasty is dynamite! photo

Jade Dynasty is the latest free-to-play MMO coming from Perfect Worlds, the distributor of such games as Perfect World International and Ether Saga Online, all based out of China and Asia. If you remember my preview of Ether Saga, you’ll know that much of what makes Perfect World games is the friendly nature of the core gameplay. Jade Dynasty looks to keep this ethos intact.

For example, the game has features that make it easy to go up in levels. Use the meditate feature for when you are playing the game and go off to get a sandwich and your character will gain experience just standing there. Or, when you log off after a nice 6 hour raid session, you can click the Dream feature. You character will gain experience while you go do important things, like eating sandwiches.

Even more interesting is the streamlining features of the game. Quests will be lined up in your quest list, and instead of running off to start the quest, you just click on the list and it’ll take you there. Which is nice, considering that the game world is effing huge. Forty five minutes to cross just a portion of the map. So there you go! It’s releasing on June 15, and if you want to get in on the beta, just head on over to the Jade Dynasty website for beta keys.

Are there any other benefits to eating sandwiches while playing this game?

I eat a lot of sandwiches.

Perfect World Online was pretty fun, but dear god, the quests are BORING. And doing quests are the only reasonable way to lvl up, so yea...

Man for a second there I thought this might have something to do with a Jade Empire sequel based on the name and the screenshot, and I started to get all hot and bothered over it, then I saw it had nothing whatsoever to with Bioware and, even worse, was yet another MMO.

Final verdict: colossal, epic-level MEH.

@I'm OK
I went apeshit when I saw the banner/booth at E3. I was like "OMFG JADE EMPIRE ONLINE?"

But no.

So this is an MMO for people who don't play MMOs... BRILLIANT!

For serious.
