Halo 3: ODST is going to be kind of a big deal, wouldn't you say? Perhaps not to those of us who are burned out on the series, but you just know the millions of Halo fans out there will eat it right up.
As someone who, prior to yesterday, had no idea what ODST was even really about, my gut reaction to the Microsoft press conference demo is that of intrigue. The use of flashbacks to take on multiple roles and slowly having the story unfold in front of you isn't mind-blowing by any means, but it's something I can get behind.
There's a little bit of overlap from yesterday's "You know the music, time to dance" trailer, but it's worth watching again if only because the narrator makes sense of what's happening on-screen. You'll find the video after the break!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

It seems slightly ridiculous that, hundreds of years in the future, the most effective weapon against heavily-armored aliens is silenced pistol rounds.
Oh fuck no, they brought back the Jesus Gun. Run for your fucking lives. As for the ODST themselves. Are they weaker than a Spartan? Cause from the gameplay video, they seem to mop every covenant they come across pretty quickly unlike your AI marine buddies. Do they jump super high like a Spartan? Do they have regenerating shields or just health packs? Can they melee?
I don't care what the haters say, I'm excited for these.
@Chronic Logic: just going by the series mythology, ODSTs are weaker than Spartans, they can't jump as high, and they don't have regenerating shields. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to melee attack. They're humans.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
