E3 09: Ghost Mansion brings cheesy spooks to WiiWare photo

I know you probably just saw my post on Gameloft’s offerings for the iPhone. I know, all you Gameloft fanboys (every, um, 4 of you) are scrambling for more info, and I’m here to pony up. Coming later this month, for 800 points to the Nintendo Wii is Ghost Mansion. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, but it really seems like a fun little game.

Up to four players can work together across a board in a pumpkin car in a haunted mansion (it feels like a haunted house ride) and play through mini games and earning money to pay for scrolls. These scrolls provide hints for the password you need to unlock the treasure chest that’s you reward for playing the game. And that’s pretty much it.

I’ll say this: out of all the characters to play as, the senile old man with big kawaii eyes is pretty much a  seller for this game. But other than that, I didn’t get a chance to see many of the mini games other than the mini games on the board stage. These seem fine, but nothing you haven’t seen in a Mario Party game.

So is this a game worth paying attention to? Sure. The art is bright and colorful, and the game has a fun vibe. Hell, your Miis show up running around the mansion. That might be worth 8 bucks, depending who you are.
