E3 09: first footage of Final Fantasy XIII for 360 photo

This morning's Microsoft press conference brought many exciting announcements for gamers (and there are still more to come!), but by far my favorite was seeing the very first footage of Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360. The game looks as crisp and beautiful as you would expect, and we got a look at a summon spell, which brought the legendary Odin to the table to kick ass and take names.

The release date for the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII was also confirmed for Spring 2010, which is a little bit more info than we knew before. Still no exact date, but you can start planning now to save that paid vacation time you have coming up for springtime! We'll have the full video shown for you soon, so keep an eye open for that later today.

This kinda surprised me, it seems they have started on the localization already. They previously said they wouldn't start with the 360 version before the game was released in Japan.. Hmmm

This is not a bad thing though, this just means sooner release in US and EU. But if they drop the ball and says timed exclusive in US and EU for the 360, Im going to kill something.

I played the PS3 demo, and after watching this, does the textures look not as crisp and high resolution as the PS3 version? or maybe it was the tv? Anyone else feel that same way?

You for got to mention that the trailer was in English with an English VO, Colette. Looks much spiffier that I really want to give Square Enix credit for though...man...I feel beaten now,lol. Not sure I like the way the english VO sounds, but maybe I just haven't heard enough to know for sure. Well, at least the PS3 version is suppose to have the Japanese VO track too.

I played the demo too, but I wouldn't say the textures were great in any of them ;) Though in the demo, they did not use the final build, so there is some graphical improvements coming.

I'm not bothered taht this is coming out for xbox. I'm bothered that because of the f-in xbox, the rest of us outside of the land of the rising sun have to wait an extra year for this to come out.

Multidisc is so the reason to not buy it for the Xbox. I mean it is so hard for us to get off of our couch and stick a different CD in.
