E3 09: Fallout 3 'Point Lookout' DLC looks vastly different photo

It's been some time since Bethesda dropped info on its plans for the future of Fallout 3 add-ons, but the company has finally given us the first batch of screenshots for "Point Lookout."

Coming to Xbox 360 and PC on June 23, as well as PlayStation 3 on an undisclosed date, this latest DLC looks radically different from the barren Capital Wasteland we're accustomed to. "Point Lookout" promises to be the most open-ended piece of content yet, and pits players in a swamp-infested, titular beachfront town.

As you can see in the screens and trailer (after the break), the new enemies are going to be creepy as f*ck if you get lost in the swampland. As for the new weapon, it's a double-barrel shotgun, and yes, there will be new perks and Achievements.

I can't quite pinpoint why this vid has me so floored. Maybe it's the POST-APOCALYPTIC MUTANT FUCKING REDNECKS!

Mutants look very "The Hills have Eyes"-esque.

looks cool, but i wont buy it, stopped buying the DLC packs after the pitt was buggy, and havnt looked back, if anyone wants to play fallout 3 with a expansion pack feel, just load the FREE fallout overhaul kit, makes the game way more of an RPG (mostly itemization)

*Crosses Fingers For New Soundtrack*

Seriously, as epic as Inon Zur's compositions are, I'd like something new.
I'm guessing the little banjo tune there at the end of the trailer was used specifically for the trailer...but one can always hope.

Also, I think it's interesting to note that there looked to be more than a couple scripted "cinematic" moments (IE: Someone being pushed through a wall, your character falling through the floor). I'm not saying Bethesda should go nuts with stuff like that, it's not really their style, but a few here and there could really make the experience a lot cooler. A good example of how to do it would be Condemned or Bioshock.

I have FO:3 for 360, and I have yet to buy any expansions, being a poor mofo. This just makes me realize i need to get off my ass and get some cash so I can move beyond level 20 and fight some new enemies for once, I'm sooo tired of wasting raiders.

The support for this game has been fantastic. They keep drawing me in.

So it takes place in a post-apocalyptic New Orleans where mutated rednecks run wild? This is certainly quite different from the rest of the Fallout 3 episodes.

Looks like fun. Hopefully there will be lots of redneck-stereotypes. Like somehow a hundred years in the future, there will be colonels and inbreds with banjos.

This is relevant to my interests. I think since I will be getting a console and this for said console, I will probably be sinking a bit of money into it over the next few weeks.

I want it, I can't believe how much I'll have spent on Fallout 3 by the time they've finished releasing DLC. Hopefully it'll be worth it.

Wait a second.. so they release the first two DLC's with the level cap still intact so I got no EXP... then they release the third that lifts the cap.. and gives you achievements for reaching level 30 (so I did) and now they are releasing more DLC that has new perks.. that I now can't get because I spent hours leveling to the new max in this last DLC??? ::facepalm::

You bastards. QUIT MAKING THE PERFECT GAME BETTER!

Seriously, don't take my Tesla cannon away for this expansion pack. I'm in love with it and I have 2400 shots to spare for it.

Fuck double barrel shotguns.

This is going to be sw33t... I wish I had the discippline to wait for it on disc, works out so much cheaper since you can trade it in or ebay it once it's finished (and it'll still b on your HDD). But I don't. Day 1 purchase, just like all the DLC...

shame the level cap isn't going up more, I'm almost at level 30. Guess I'll need to make a new guy and run through with him.
