At this morning’s Microsoft press conference, long-rumored Crackdown 2 was officially announced. What you see sitting right there above these words? That’s the official trailer.

If you are a fan of the first game, this trailer is going to make you so freakin’ happy.

It’s got it all: explosions, massive jumps, car throwing, killer guns, and tons of action. It’s basically like taking the first Crackdown, injecting steroids into its balls, giving it a bunch of power tools, throwing it on a football field, and letting it have sex with an entire bevy of women. Videogames don’t get much manlier than this.

What do you think? Are you excited for Crackdown 2, or is this too much of a tease? What kind of superhuman powers would you like to see in this sequel?

I've decided to refer to this as "Like Crackdown on crack."

But FUCK YES, BRING THAT SHIT.

It looks like they're finally adding an opponent of equal or similar power.

I was hoping for your character to go against the Agency, what with the sinister epilogue in the first game.

Just some prerendered shit. Why do people allow that kind of thing? It's totally meaningless.

I remember the ending of Crackdown. The Agency trying to spread the Super Cop franchise to all over the globe. So what city has the Agency expanded to this time?

Fuck yeah! who doesn't love them some Crackdown... shame it's gone super generic though, the first had a great art style; this seems like it'll look like every other game ever... still... it's fuckin' Crackdown, so you know it'll be tits.

This makes me happy ^_^ I just hope that there's more of a plot this time around and 4 player co-op would be immense!

I feel like there are plans of Crackdown 2 having a beta of the new Halo, and players will be buying the game just for that beta. You know, just like what kinda happened with the first Crackdown.

In all seriousness, it does look good...for something prerendered. But I'd be lying if I said it didn't impress me. As long as I can pick up crap like the Hulk and throw it at other people, I'll be happy.

Yeah the CG trailer doesn't say a lot about anything other than the theme of the game for me. Will be interesting now that it has a lot more competition with the likes of Prototype and Infamous and all that out now. Seems a lot darker, what with you fighting mutants or whatever now too. Not sure how I feel about that, but I guess I'll want to hear more about it at least.

Also lol at the developer having to deny they left RTW to work on this.

I'm definitely ready for this one. Crackdown was a blast and I imagine this will be mainly more of the same with some new things mixed in here and there.

Meh the first one was kinda cool but not worth full price. Single player campaign is a little bland and running around blowing stuff up gets old after a while. If theres a little more mission variety and side missions then sign me up otherwise just another over hyped rental.

Had MS not waited sooo long to contact Realtime about a second game, Crackdown 2 would be out this year. What idiots. I was one of the few people I knew that was actually looking out for the game (noticed it at 360 launch) and I cared not one bit about Halo's demo....mabye they should beta Crackdown with Reach....that might be the only way to get me to buy Bungie's latest.

Also, it really would be nice if Realtime Worlds would release an online multiplayer DLC for the original to hold us over!

Of course! It all makes sense! Why wouldn't you want to be one of the crackdown guys during a zombie infestation? That's like being a fat kid living in Hershey Pennsylvania. I can't wait for this game.
