E3 09: Commander Shepard not exactly dead photo

After the Dragon Age Origin’s hip caressing, Electronic Arts shifted the focus of their E3 press conference to BioWare’s Mass Effect 2. The new details aren’t too hot, but we’re beginning to understand that whole “Shepard is dead,” thing better.

He survived a suicide mission.

A full gameplayer trailer with mammoth explosions and ships and people plunging into inky space accompanied the story details before EA made another transition to Fight Night Round 4.

If you’re on a Mass Effect 2 information drip, we apologize for squeezing the bag a little. We’ll get more details as E3 continues.

Good to know. What level do ya think player bringing their old saves will start on? 0 or 60?

God damn it. I wish Shepard would stay dead. I want a new protagonist, a non-human.

@SnakeDude4Life
I doubt old saves will have any effect on starting level, but probably just carry over your class/skills(maybe) and story info on who you hooked up with, who died etc.
@Justice:
If theyre giving this away I guess it all comes out in an opening sequence anyway
@Chronic Logic:
What's wrong with Shepard, so long as we get a new race team mate I'll be pleased.

One word: WEAK!
Killing your totaly pimped out hero (who already had galactic council on his mercy and influenced the choice of human representative - maybe not the most powerful wo/man of universe but still acomplished leader not an adventurer, soldier or even ship commander - political figure) would be a good move IMO.

The other option would be to NPCise him and move perspective to someone else.

Surviving suicide mission with some amnesia (to clear out skill points ...) is just WEAK!

Noice! Scratch one spoiler! Nah i don't care it was kinda obvious that he would survive. Peteru is right it would be an interesting move but Mass Effect was hardly the sort of game that was full of surprises.
