Nintendo wants you to know that they are amazingly, incredibly, mind-numbingly happy. At least, that's what their opening video seemed to be saying at the Nintendo Press Conference at this year's E3. After several minutes of watching people smiling like loons while playing games, we got the point -- get a Wii and you will attain instant happiness. Move over, Buddha, enlightenment is overrated.
Anyway, that's beyond the point. The first big premiere title demonstrated this year was Shaun White Snowboarding, in which Nintendo unveiled Shaun White himself using the Wii balance board to snowboard his way down an immaculate white slope. The game looks like a lot of fun and will definitely engage gamers who were concerned that the only thing they could do with their Wii balance board was film women's asses swinging about as they hula hooped (not that that ever gets old, mind you).
Updated with new video and photos from the event!

While you won't actually jump off your board while trying to land those sweet jumps, you will have to use your sense of balance (or lack thereof) to cruise your way through everything from slopes to half pipes. Nintendo says that we can expect to see Shaun White Snowboarding before the end of the year. Snowy fields await you!
While I'm not a fan of the genre personally, I am glad to see a title like this rather than some sort of casual title that forces me to hurl my body around on the balance board for no good reason other to use the technology. It should get people having fun, which is ideal considering Nintendo seems to like taking pictures of people paralyzed with joy. Will WiiGasm be next, Nintendo?
