E3 08: Official Mega Man 9 box art may be the greatest thing I have ever seen photo

This might be the best box art to come out in the last twenty years. Seriously, where do I start? The awesome airbrush job? The ridiculous designs of Mega Man and Dr. Wily? The classic grid background? Hell, it actually uses the phrases "Ultrasound Graphics Synthesis" and "8-bit Fidelity Engine." This is the best box art EVER!

Capcom is getting everything right with the retro throwback that is Mega Man 9. If you read my hands-on impressions yesterday you know I love the game. This box art just takes everything over the edge.

What do you think? So good or so, SO good? What is your favorite part of this nostalgic creation? If this game is a download, why is there even box art to begin with?

Totally awesome. I can't believe they'd take a shot at their past like this, but it's refreshing to know that a) this retro thing is for real and b) they can laugh at themselves.

You guys need to watch Jonathan Holmes E3 day summary video if you haven't. He jokes with one of the creators wearing that shirt. Its hilarious!

"There is nothing cool about this shirt" he says in Japanese with a smile. LoL!

Awesome retro box art, but I still can't see myself taking the time out of my day to play an 8-bit retro game.

Now, if they made it for the DS or a PSP download, I would definitely get it. Personally, my home gaming time is devoted to the newer games.

Hell, I can't bring myself to turn on the wii anymore.

Despite the fact I personally have no interest in the title, I can certainly appreciate what Capcom is doing for their fans. They've definitely gone above and beyond what I would consider the call of duty and delivered a full-on retro flashback for all of the Blue Bomber's fans. Good for them and good for the retro lovers out there. The fact the game isn't HD or anything new and flashy doesn't even upset me anymore, quite honestly.

I salute you, Capcom.

Cyborg Dr. Wily is PURE win. And I'm glad they didn't forget to hook MM up with a pistol.

Man this is SO great. I hope this game sells well because if it does I have a feeling we will be seeing Mega Man X9 with SNES sprites a la X - X3!
