E3 08: Official Mega Man 9 box art may be the greatest thing I have ever seen

E3 08: Official Mega Man 9 box art may be the greatest thing I have ever seen photo
     AMAZING

This might be the best box art to come out in the last twenty years. Seriously, where do I start? The awesome airbrush job? The ridiculous designs of Mega Man and Dr. Wily? The classic grid background? Hell, it actually uses the phrases "Ultrasound Graphics Synthesis" and "8-bit Fidelity Engine." This is the best box art EVER!

Capcom is getting everything right with the retro throwback that is Mega Man 9. If you read my hands-on impressions yesterday you know I love the game. This box art just takes everything over the edge.

What do you think? So good or so, SO good? What is your favorite part of this nostalgic creation? If this game is a download, why is there even box art to begin with?

Oh god, that cover is either the worst thing I have ever seen or the best thing. I can't decide...\

Either way, the retro cover is amazing!

What the hell Capcom, Where do you get off doing this. I am being suspect that someone from 1991 time traveled to present day Capcom. This ridiculous amount of win in Mega Man 9 is unbelievable.

Screw "so good", that thing is Zawsome! I was a little undecided on the retro Mega Man 9 just because I'm not a huge fan, but I so want that on a shirt. I support this.

I think I get it. Apparently, this was on a t-shirt Capcom made for people who completed both demo levels at E3. So it's official boxart.. for a game with no box.

The only thing that would make it better would be if they put a disk of the game inside a case that looks like a nes cart and rubber band the game manual to the card box.

YES!!! Retro-tastic! Capcom is doing everything right with this. Now if only Konami would take a hint and do a retro Castlevania game in the "Symphony of the Night" style.

Which also reminds me, what's happening with that metroid game that guy was making? It looked kickass as well.

That really is bizarre. I'm too young to fully appreciate it but I've been a gamer long enough to understand just how fucking awesome Capcom is for going this far. They could've just whipped the game up and muttered "uhh, yeah...umm..here you go man. No let me get back to my RE5 project." but instead they've pretty much just strapped a neon sign to a giant foam cowboy hat while screaming "RETRO MEGAMAN 9!!" into a dog shaped megaphone for everyone to see.

I do feel the need to ask the question of "will this just be a graphic on the game download screen or will it somehow be distributed after purchase?" It leads me to beleive that it might possibly get thrown in as a DVD extra for the next multiplatform Megaman game but I really have nothing to back that up.
