Sierra have given us an epic trailer for the new Ghostbusters game. The video is only two minutes long and I'd say at least half of it is footage taken from the first film, but what gameplay we see is looking pretty damn good. I'm particularly impressed with the level of environmental destruction. They do seem to be re-using a lot of classic Ghostbusters material, though, which makes me wonder how much of this is going to be playable rehash versus original content.
Oh, sweet mamma jamma. I'm am really, really hoping they deliver on this one. At least, where the big boys are concerned. After the jump, check out the unholy host of screens that Sierra has unleashed from their containment vault. I'll warn you, though, the Wii version scares me a bit.

Seriously, that's embarassing. More awesome (and less awesome) screens are in the gallery.

Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

pass...
Some of them made me want it less.
That Wii version is...I mean it's......wow. Looks like you could toss it on the DS and call it a night.
PS3 as well, right?
i was reading some hands-on stuff, it doesn't sound like theres a lot of murray. there better be some murray.
I don't know why, but every time I see your name I can't help but think Cornad.
Also, any word if this is going to be 4 player co-op online?
The game has nothing to do with the original movies, beyond the obvious. You play as a new recruit, so it should all be post-movies. They probably just used the movie footage to get people more interested.
Also, LOL at the Wii. :)
no co-op... too much stream crossing
And even though it was just a demo, it was a SWEET fucking demo...
Well, I imagine they're just including them because they're iconic. I mean, you can't make the first decent Ghostbusters game, well, EVER and not include characters like Slimer or Stay-Puft. Since we've only seen a few levels (presumably) thus far, I'm sure there will be more, new content in the final game.
Ah, nostalgia is such a great thing.
Also you are right about the Wii version being scary, because it really is scary.
