Now this is how you make a game trailer, folks. The transitions, the music, the stunts -- it all just makes me want to see more of Dice's Mirror's Edge, immediately.
I'm not sure if I can pinpoint exactly what it is about the game that's gotten me so hot and bothered. Perhaps it's the killer art direction, which reminds me of Crackdown, only more realistic and much cleaner, or the incredible lighting effects, or maybe even the fast-paced action itself.
In any case, assuming that Mirror's Edge plays as well as it looks, I think we've got a real winner on our hands. How do you guys feel about it?
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

I'm calling it right now. People are going to complain (and give it low scores) because the controls are going to take some getting used to and they're going to easily be disoriented by the first person free running (which is another thing you just have to get used to/better at).
I'm just not seeing what others are in this. The graphics are standard as far as I can see, just using less textured tones. The fighting is scripted actions like other games have done already and continue to do. It has some potential, but the gameplay is pretty much unknown at this time (though I have my own theory).
So, is this is a first person platformer? If so I would love to play this as long as the controls are as fluid as the video shown.
The music probably made the trailer much more impressive in my opinion.
I already love this game. But I'm worried about how they are going to balance between "push forward to run/kick/jump/win" and "the following fold out will help you learn the many buttons will be using. Also we'd recommend buying a metronome to help with your timing."
I mean how do they make something that difficult intuitive and yet not too easy.
Jesus fuck this game looks good. I mean, it's Dice, so they will mess the whole game up with bone dry gameplay and 80 billion bugs, but at least we got these sexy trailers out of it.
sidenote, I sure hope they use that sound engine from BF:BC.
@loki d20 and @Magesx: The graphics are standard? Where else have you seen graphics this saturated and colorful? Stop being such a snobby dickhead, seriously, using "less textured tones" has nothing to do with it. It's the fact that it isn't gray or brown and consists of something other than space marines killing aliens for once, something that has never been done in a first person game before.
And what do you mean the fighting is all "scripted actions"? If you are talking about the, apparent, context sensitive movements then yes, a few other games have also done this, but nobody has ever tried using such a large amount, in such a large number of ways, especially in a first person game, so what is your point?
I can understand if this game does not look like your cup of tea, but to go as far as saying its nothing special, or that its been done before and that you can't see what others like about it?
Finally. a game where I can play as Lucy Liu. Also, I have a strange feeling in my gut that 90% of this game will be played by holding down the a button and pushing forward on the analog stick.
Much better then the last trailer. Don't get me wrong - I'm all about story, I'm just not all about *this* story. The "Give me back my son/daughter/family" makes our protagonist seem like a younger, female Harrison Ford.
Really like the use of color in the different areas. 'Bout time something first-person-ish did something other than apocalyptic. In a strange way the gameplay makes me think of Tomb Raider in first person.
I wonder if there will be an option to play it in third person? Or maybe the whole true-head-perspective thing is the hook.
Looks cool, reminds me of Portal. I wonder if the gameplay is gonna emphasize constantly being on the run like all the trailers seem to show, or if you're gonna have the chance to stop and look around

You heard it here first.
From what I've seen this game just looks plain fun.
Because it doesn't look that great.
AWESOME.
Am I missing something here?

This had to be one of the best trailers I have seen in a long time. It just looked... cool
Also, there is no way she could have made it to that chopper.
Do want.

(And we all said LAST Fall was the best season for games ever. Pssh.)

That's just stupidly ignorant.
