E3 08: Mirror's Edge hands-on impressions

Livewire had some footage of a producer being interviewed while playing, and he kept dying like hell because he was tired, so I did got the idea that you needed skill to play it.

Can't wait to get my hands on this. I started Parkour about a year ago, and to actually see a game coming out based on it is wonderfully full of, "Awesome."

Hmm... it's a shame you didn't get a taste of the combat, I would have liked to get more impressions of it. From what I've heard from other sources it's a bit of an afterthought and not much fun.

@aaronf I completely put a capital F on, "Fucking agree with you." I reload the page just because of it.

Ah and basically, if games were to be packaged with a drug that most compliments its gameplay, Mirror's Edge would be packaged with Dramamine and Wii Music with Acid?

I am so excited to finally see some new video clips on Mirror's Edge and hearing you guys talk about it has me excited. I have been wanting to know more about this game since way back when they just released like 4 screenshots and a little bit of info.

You need to find a way to steal one of those PS3s you were playing the game on and send it to me so I can play it. Don't worry, if you get caught, just tell them that I told you to do it, and they will understand.

These trailers have really done nothing for me. From what I've seen the game looks rather lifeless and empty. Did you get this feeling at all from actually playing the game?

I'll watch this again for more Tiff cleavage.

I like how whoever set the camera up aimed it directly at tiffs boobs and cut off her face.

I love the whole concept of this game. I've been dieing for a game to attempt to get body movement to feel/look less robotic. The art style is refreshing too.

I definitely share your fears of how it could go wrong but I trust they're aware of that. Can't wait and I like the video blogs by the way.

Nice composition, Rev. I really like the style and flow of this, as well. You guys should do laid back video reviews like this in the future. The conversational style made me feel like part of a conversation, as opposed to a passive reader. It added a ton of life to the same old generic three paragraph preview.

Anyways, this game sounds and looks great so far. I wonder what lead to the creative choice of putting it in the first person view perspective as opposed to 3rd. Seems like a game about jumping and such should be in 3rd but I guess if it plays as well as you both say they must be doing something right. Interesting how they put so much focus on seeing body parts of yourself as you move in game.
