Closing out last night's Activision 'not, E3' press conference, Neversoft performed and confirmed Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" in Guitar Hero: World Tour.

The track, with its blindingly fast drums intro and blazing guitar solo, looked mesmerizingly difficult. Also confirmed (via in-game menus and music) were Smashing Pumpkin's "Today," The Beastie Boys' "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn," and Paramore's "Misery Business."

Speaking of Paramore, lead singer Hayley Williams was on hand to prove that she's both short and young, in addition to announcing that she'd be included as a "playable" avatar in the game. She joined drummer Travis Barker, who will also appear in the game, along with other unannounced celebrities and musicians.

Some of this confirms information that was leaked via an online survey not too long ago. Other musicians rumored to make an appearance include Sting, Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent, Zak Wylde, and Billy Corgan.

<3 Hayley Williams.

World Tour is looking solid to me right now, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit character customization is the one thing I'm looking forward to most.

I like me some Hayley, but where are some more classic rockers? I'd feel like a sell-out if I only had recent musicians to chose from and no one like Sting, Johnny Rotten, or Hendrix.

necros- i think stewart copeland is gonna be in the game. he was in the earlier videos about developing the drums.

someone cblog that rock band instruments would work w/ this game. if thats the case, i might actually get to play it.

Really Necros? I thought you'd want to play as an unknown longhaired emo kid from the midwest with nothing but a guitar on his back and some shrooms in his pocket

You guys like Paramore? Really? Do you think Avril Lavigne is great too? I'm not judging, I'm not, but saying you like Paramore is like saying you like cancer. You have every right to enjoy your cancer but damn guys...really?

Anyways, it is cool to have avatars of current musicians instead of just the classics. Of course, "musician" is used very loosely in this context.

I've always had a thing for Hayley. Something about her is just SO adorable. God Rock Band, why couldn't you get Misery Business?! I don't want to get this at all because it's just a blunt rip off of Rock Band. But after seeing SOME of the tracks on it, I already feel myself becoming more and more interested. First it was At The Drive In, now this.

This is one of the last places I thought I would see Paramore love.
We all know that Haley is TOTALLY in the same leagues as people like Ozzy and Sting.
Can't wait for Hendrix to be replaced by Pete Wentz.
