Here it is, you salivating dogs, the trailer that made the Internet explode and the GameFAQs board full of hilarious bile, this is the video that revealed Final Fantasy XIII as an Xbox 360 release.
It's very rare that I find press conferences memorable (especially as I'm stuck at home watching them) but the moment that Yoichi Wada returned to the stage for "one more announcement," I could feel the Internet begin to quake. Relive the glory days of several hours ago with this Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 trailer, straight after the jump.

@Jim:
Also, thank you for posting this trailer. Having to watch it at home and on G4 they made them pull away and you couldn't see it very well. Much appreciated!
I thought Versus was a seperate story in the same universe of an ANTI-hero person (dude with blue hair and twenty floating swords). Correct me if I'm wrong, and show me where it was said he was the villain.
Versus XIII is completely independent of FF XIII. They're set in the same universe, but it's otherwise unrelated. Versus XIII and XIII aren't connected like that, according to Tetsuya Nomura.
It focuses on the last heir to a kingdom that controls a city that holds the last crystal.
Wow, the male character in that video actually looked masculine. I think I actually spotted facial hair. The only thing I didn't quite get, was the weird creature that came out of the Laserdisc.
Surely this was the annoucement that won 360 the console war over sony, I mean all they seem to have left now is God of War 3 and killzone 2, and i couldn't give a dickiebird about KZ2 in all honesty.
Avatars now make sense in a way if Microsoft turned to focus on beating Wii in some context. Yet this comes down to that core competitiveness that has been Microsoft.
The only question left is what about FF Versus 13. Surely if that comes to 360 or is some part of ff13 that has yet to be revealed tucked away in the game it'll be the end but the ps3 could technically 'die' laughing. as it'll most likely be on 4 dvds to the ps3's singular blu-ray.
That is a petty arguement in fairness especially when you have lost the one game that people were going to buy thier console for.
How is that an XBox 360 Trailer? If I'm not mistaken, that's pretty much what both will look like as far as that portion of the trailer goes. There's an XBox 360 announcement, but that trailer seems to be just for the game, especially since it lacks anything specific to XBox 360.
The moment Yoichi Wada came back on stage I was immediately saying "Oh God, what is he doing, what's going on?" It's unfortunate that Microsoft made G4 pull back and give us a far away angle view of the trailer. It left me inches away from my TV trying to deduce what was going on. Many thanks for the trailer, Jim!
I am extremely excited now that I don't have to spend $500 or more on a PStriple when Final Fantasy was the only game I really wanted. Don't get me wrong, I like Sony and all, but this console is just meh for me. I'm hoping that Sony pulls something atomic out of their asses to revive my lust for the PS3.
I apologise Jim, the words I used were far too strong, I just thought the title of this piece seemed a bit like a Nelson 'haw hawww' that would get you some unwanted attention.
Damn... that trailer was very pretty. More importantly, those small shots of battle gameplay were fucking awesome. If the game ends up like that, you have me sold.
ace, no need to spend hundreds on a console i only wanted for this and wipeout hd (what happened to that?) anymore. good news for everyone really, more people get to play the game.
@Celdurant:
XD Well it's appreciated, as the last time I had heard anything about it was what.. almost two years ago? I'm not surprised I completely forgot what it was suppose to be like. XD
Yes, making it a FFXIII trailer... Where it's shown, doesn't decide what it's a trailer of. If it showed just 360 gameplay, then I'd call it a 360 trailer, but it doesn't. Do you go to the Sony booth the next day, see the exact same trailer, and call it a PS3 trailer? No.
Stop fueling the unnecessary flames of online idiocy of both 360 and PS3 fanboys.
monosylabik: Did you actually watch the trailer? It doesn't say anything about 360. It even says in the end PS3 exclusive for Japan so my guess is that footage is from the PS3.
This announcement has me excited in a way I haven't been in a while. I'm glad to hear FF XIII is coming to the 360, but I just have to wonder about what they'll have to downgrade for the 360 version....that and I wonder what laughable amount of DVDs this is going to be on.

FFXIII Versus is from the antagonist's point of view. I'm actually more excited for it than the normal XIII

On another note, the game looks amazing, as always, however; This Final Fantasy game looks like very much like the recent games. Good and bad, no?

I see. That would actually be pretty incredible if the villain turned out be awesome like Speheroth of Kefka.
It focuses on the last heir to a kingdom that controls a city that holds the last crystal.
Oh really? That sounds even more awesome then. Last I heard it was just the antagonist version. :)

Although it was 13 swords floating around him, not 20 =P

I picked a number at random cause I didn't for sure. 13 is still a ridiculous number of swords though.
Oh that's totally more awesome than what I had originally thought. Thanks for the info!
Well ...
1) It was a trailer.
2) Shown at an Xbox 360 conference.
@ryu89 I agree. 13 is a ridiculous number of swords. Even Cloud in Advent Children only had like 8 (also ridiculous).
I was close.

Usually you have to wade through the cesspools of the internet to find interviews with Nomura about everything he's up to for this stuff.
