Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

The dust has barely settled but we're already hesitant to know: Who will the Destructoid Community choose as their favorite presenter at this year's E3?

Someone is definitely going to sell more units than the other guy and we're curious to know who's new products caught your eye, which products made you vomit, and at which point you fell asleep head-first on your keyboard. Cast your vote in the poll above and hit the comments to sound off: Who's most likely to claim your future holiday spending money?

I think somebody else mentioned this but suprisingly Sega had better announcements than the big 3 in my opinion. Now if only they could re-enter the console market...Dreamcast 2 please!

Microsoft's "OMG FFXIII" announcement was the only really interesting one, so I give it to them. Nintendo's definitely the big loser, though.

Nintendo probably got boozed up before the show. They didn't even need to show up.

The Wii is giving people orgasms all over the world, you can't preach to the choir.

Microsoft's steal of FFXIII gives them the win, I think. God of War isn't exactly hot-off-the-presses news... but the FFXIII announcement took everyone by surprise.

Nintendo did shit.

as a PS3 and final fantasy fanboy, i have to say that microsoft won this E3... overall i guess sony did a much better job, but still, that FFXIII news was huge. i guess congrats to microsoft on securing this? i'm glad that many more people get to enjoy the game now, but damn i hope it truly is a port to the 360 as square enix has said (as in i hope the ps3 version doesn't suffer as a result).

I'm most disappointed at Nintendo. They seemed to have forgotten who made them in the first place...

Without the hardcore fans, they'd have lost the early console wars to SEGA. Instead of awesome games like a new Metroid or Zelda or even F-Zero...we get more software pretending to be games like another Wii Sports and Wii Music.

Animal Crossing is gonna be awesome but ONE game doesn't make things right.

I was disappointed from Sony's because I simply expected more.

I was excited about MS's because I expected less.

Nintendo revealed that the Wiimote up until now was substandard and not accurate enough by releasing yet ANOTHER peripheral/attachment halfway through its lifecycle. Too little, too late, Ninty.

MS won.

MS shoulda jumped onstage during the sony presentation and started rapping "SONY TELL ME HOW MY ASS TASTE"

and nintendo just said "fk it. we don't need to do shxt this year and made it rain on the audience"

MS won this year.

Nintendo showed me something, themselves, that I'm more excited about than anything Microsoft or Sony presented.

1:1 motion control.

There's no time limit for enjoying cool technology applied to games. I was excited when I thought the Wii could do it out of the box, and I'm more excited now that I've seen it working.

If nintendo can make the Wiimote feel even more intuitive, then I'm all for it.

However, FFXIII for the 360 is just huge for me personally. :)

I'm leaning towards giving my vote to MS, but at the same time, you have to keep in mind that their biggest announcement was a non-exclusive title. When the best thing you've got is "Hey, we have what the other guy has!" did you really win?

I'm not saying the other guys had anything huge that gives the vote to them... but at least they were announcing new, exclusive stuff like Carrot Top Snowboarding and MAG.

I think in the end I'll have to abstain from the vote. E3 just isn't what it used to be...

Microsoft were the only ones that surprised me with something good. Nintendo showed some Mii related bollox and Sony had a cool LBP thing for their sales figures etc. Other than that it was pretty terrible for the big 3.

Still at least I got some Fallout 3 footage and Dead Space also looks awesome.

Harmonix wins. Activision is done for.

Seriously though, I voted MS, but Sony gave a better showing than I expected. FF13 isn't a huge deal to me like it seems to be for a lot of people and the Live avatars seem Mii-ish and aren't very intriguing. But a lot of the other stuff was big to me: added support for resolutions (I play on a 16:10 monitor, this has been a long time in coming!), a cohesive party mode and group chat that persists through games and the dashboard, and hard-drive storage (because disc-swapping is hella annoying, but how will this work for rentals). I will also put the Netflix support to good use, although I'm not really sure how many people other than myself actually subscribe to the service and will find this feature useful.

If that's what is considered great at e3 now I'd say we all lost. Wow, what a kick ass bar chart!

Personally I enjoyed the MS one a lot more. The sony one to me wasn't very intresting. GoW3 was a given, Loco Roco 2 was a given. Them adding movies to their online was a given. I don't really see the great shock I was ready for. MS wins only because it had PRESS. It saved a giant shocker for the last, hence why it IMO wins. Sony did a good job, Nintendo did bad. But overall I'm more excitied for what the 360 has shown me.

There is no doubt that MS won. There was, unfortunately, nothing from sony. Everything "announced" was already known well in advance apart from the LBP date. Microsoft, however, stole all the thunder this year with the FFXIII announcement.

All in all though I found what they have shown so far a complete let down. There were no real new and exciting IPs for us to salivate over. I am hoping the TGS or PAX or Leipzig will be able to shake things up a little bit.

Whether one was a fan of MS or not they took this E3 with the FFXIII announcement. It didn't matter that it wasn't exclusive to the 360 the fact that its even being released on the 360 surprised everyone.

Yes, Sony had exclusives but most were in-house titles instead of third-party exclusives. So, unless Sony is going on a buying spree buying small developers here and there then the FFXIII news could be a prediction of what the future holds for past Sony exclusives like MGS. Also, no release date for LBP and Home didn't help Sony any. Sometimes patience is a good thing for a fas-base to have but too much delays can sometimes create a backlash or raise people's expectations for those two products that they fail to reach it.

Sony? I literally almost fell asleep.

Microsoft didn't really have any news exclusively except for Banjo-Kazooie on XBLA... which they didn't even bother going into detail on. They just said "Game A exists. kthxbai."

Nintendo, they had Wii Sports Resort, which looks like it won't suck (100% thanks to sword fights) and Animal Crossing. Which unfortunately looks to be just another port.

VERY boring year. I say Nintendo, cuz Animal Crossing is awesome. Microsoft comes in second for letting me stare at RE4 longer than those jerks at Sony did.

If MS hadn't announced Geometry Wars 2 and Galaga Legions, I'd put their announcements right above Nintendo's. I felt Sony had the most substance to their conference. Nintendo shouldn't have shown up. Having a soccer mom explain how women can't snowboard then have Miyamoto and some stoner drummer fuck screw up the Mario theme song is just horribly blasphemous.

Hard to decide between Sony and MicroSoft. If I had to choose, I'd go Sony because they showed the most 'new' games, though mostly just trailers.

As far as who will sell more consoles, more than likely Wii with 360 and PS3 coming in very close to one another. 360 will still dominate in game sales because that's where people play online, have their friends, and have almost two years worth of achievements (aka ePeen measurement). I think this will be a solid year, and next, for PS3, but they need to come up with some remarkable stuff than what they've shown so far to get up to 360, let alone think of overtaking them. Oh, and PS3 will remain the #1 Blu-ray player :p

I went in as an owner of all three systems, having just recently gotten a 360 and I was pretty let down over all.

I was the most excited about Nintendo and the most let down by them. Wii Band Camp? What?

I thought the MS thing was pretty boring. Having used Netflix Instant View on the PC, I know how let down people are going to be when they actually see the selection and how crappy the "free" movies are. I cancelled my account with them a couple months back because they never got any new "Instant Watch" movies, it was just the same old crap. The whole thing about stealing Sony's Exclusive, well, I was gonna by it for PS3 anyway because that's the system it was made for. So no points for that either.

Sony was the most surprising as I thought they would have the worst presentation and in my opinion had the best. Grant it, they didn't steal any exclusives and then hoot and beat their chests, but they did have some pretty good games to show off. That awesome leviathon battle was badass and that game where you could have like 256 people, man that looked crazy good. Plus God of War looks SWEET. And I am just totally excited for little big planet and home.

So in the end I was looking forward to great stuff about all three systems and I was really only happy with what Sony had to say. So they win.

Had Nintendo jacked the mic during the FFXIII announcement and said "Nintendo is for the children!", it woulda have perked things up a bit.

Are you all going to sit back and tell me that you all expected this year's E3 to have the same kind of game library that 2007 did? The second half of last year was historic as far as quality goes, and 2008's E3 was destined to disappoint.

With that out of the way, Microsoft had the big punch (FFXIII), Sony had the stable of games, and Nintendo had... a box... to plug into your Wiimote... joy.

Microsoft by a hair.

I think everyone is really underestimating the dashboard and live update. Avatars and the new party system are really functional and cool ideas, and they are trying to expand the online social interaction. That's something new - and it's not just a game, conveniently. FFXIII bores me, but whatever. Still, nintendo was shit and I'm kind of considering PS3 for God of War.

@maximus: agreed about comparing this year to last year's epicness.

God of War 3 was great to see, but doesn't anyone think it was completely what we expected out of it? I'm not complaining, I love me some GoW as much as the next person, but it wasn't earth-shatteringly different enough to make it as amazing as some people claim. It was... expected.

I think 360's new interface will be much appreciated once it's released and people won't quite understand all the functionality until we all get our hands on it for ourselves and see how much improved it is.

Nintendo was simply... just as disappointing as I anticipated. No big news on that front.

Quite frankly, I just don't see how anyone but MS "won," but whatever. To each his own.
