If you're burnt out on Activision's steady flow of Spider-Man titles, you might want to give a second look at Shaba Games' Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
During a video demonstration of the game at last night's "not E3" press conference, Activision showed off some of the game's cool looking and intense combat, which features both air battles and vertical wall fighting. Additionally, it looks like the game's mechanic involves switching between Spider-Man's red and black suits on the fly; the red suit will give Spider-Man quicker, more acrobatic abilities, while the black suit is for more aggressive power fighting.
Activision was kind enough to pass along a few screens of the game, including one image of one of the game's enemies, Vulture. Is it me or does his face look like it was 'shopped into the picture and completely out of place?
Web of Shadows will be available on whatever videogame system Activision can get it on this Fall.

The combat gameplay we've seen in the game so far looks good, but that's all. I believe it's either going to turn out overly repetitive, simplistic or both. It'll end up just being eye-candy fight scenes, IMHO.
Yeah, I only noticed it after reading that part. Weird, the trailer looked pretty good anyway.
@ Char Aznable- Wait wha-??
I loved the first 2 movie games (never played the third). Web swinging was an absolutely enthralling practice. The sense of speed and look of the city was enough for me to explore every corner just to have a reason to travel and do tricks.
The Ultimate one, though, simplified the swing mechanic to shit, but was still at least somewhat enjoyable on its own merits with its story and art. Even old school spider man games were great, like Carnage and Spiderman w/ the X-men. I've only known portable spiderman games to be real craptastic.
I found your statement dubious to say the least.
I myself am looking forward to a non-movie spider man game that retains the same swing mechanics as the movie games.
However, melee has always been shitty. I hope they find a way to do something about it.
Looks very promising, and can't wait to see what they have in store for this.
I was mainly referring to the third movie game, so I probably should have re-worded that. Spider Man 3 left a really bad taste in my mouth.
The web swinging was awesome like usual, but the missions were such an unpleasant chore to get through that they totally dragged the game down. I just didn't find it to be a fun game.
