E3 08: Activision announces X-Men Origins: Wolverine title photo

While it should be of no surprise to anyone that Activision announced Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion last night, another announced Marvel seemingly came out of nowhere: X-Men Origins: Wolverine. 

Based on the upcoming film of the same name, the game follows the history and genesis of Wolverine. Activision didn't reveal much information about the title, other than that it will tie in with the film, and will feature the likeness of Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman. 

The X-Men Origins: Wolverine game and film are slated to hit theaters in May 2009. Snicket.

Not looking toward this game. It'll probably turn out being just as sucky as X-Men: The Game.

I hope this doesn't blow as hard as the past Wolverine games I've experienced. I take no comfort from the fact that this is tied in with the movie. Marvel's games are starting to collect a REALLY spotty track record lately.

I hope they get a really cool artistic style for the game, but being tied to a movie franchise usually means it's gonna be generically generic.
