StreumOnStudio’s Source-driven shooter E.Y.E may have a ludicrous name, but this cyberpunk-flavored shooter with roleplaying features might be a surprising little indie hit. We have two new trailers for the game (yanked from RPS) and I'm rather intrigued.
E.Y.E promises shooting action, hacking and RPG elements with some pretty deep and involving menus. An interesting balance between fiddly micromanagement and balls-to-the-wall action that could go horribly wrong, but might just succeed.
It has a heavy smell of Deus Ex around it, and that's probably not a bad thing. Check out the vids and let us know what you think.
Almost too dark but I think that has more to do with the lights in this room. Looks interesting. Really like the armor in the still shot, hope that is in the game somehow. Maybe an antagonist. Reminds me of Warhammer 40K. I'd try a demo of that.
"It's going to be an eye for an E.Y.E."
Really StreumOn? This s the best you can come up with? Dayum.
In other news, it looks pretty interesting. Call me a freak but I have a thing for millions of menus and customisation opions in my games. Even if I do just play the same stealth/mid-range character in every game.
Podtoid listener Thomas Truong (Cutie Honey on the CBlogs) made this frankly fantastic animation, taking my description of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy and turning it into a wonderful cartoon. Jonathan Holmes, Max Scoville, Tara Long and a whole feast of in-jokes star!
If you like Podtoid or E.Y.E, then this is essential viewing.
Regular readers will know that I have a deep and grotty love for E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, easily one of the most ridiculous and weird shooters ever made. The beautifully bizarre game is now only $2.49 on Steam, reduced by 75...

Sometimes, a game comes along that you know should not be good. It wants to accomplish too much, it aims far too high, and it attempts to innovate in ways so strange that there's no way it could be anything more than a messy,...
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy released very recently and I've been playing it for review. Unfortunately, the game is so deep, and its progression so random, that it might take me a while before I feel I've played enough to truly s...
A few seconds into this trailer for The Swapper and I'm reminded of how uniquely gorgeous the puzzle-platformer looks. There is, after all, a reason why we resort to bringing up The Neverhood in these situations; not enough ...more
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood developer Press Play has once again talked about its fairly unique relationship with Microsoft, this time in an interview with OXM. The independent studio, it should be pointed out, was acquired ...more
