This is what Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce looks like on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Originally released as a PSP game, Strikeforce was Koei's attempt to merge hack n' slash gameplay with Monster Hunter style co-op RPG trappings. It succeeded in many ways, but the lack of online co-op was a real drag.
Fortunately, this has been resolved, with the console versions allowing four friends to go online and fight giant tigers and other ludicrously oversized animals. Should be a good one for Dynasty Warriors fans -- all ten of you!

I don't like Dynasty Warriors because I think the universe is interesting, because I don't. The characters and story mean nothing to me.
I like Dynasty Warriors, because thousands of AI-less soldiers line up so I can take them down, over and over again. If I'm just hacking and slashing at one giant animal to kill, who fights back occasionally... I have no interest. If there were thousands of giant AI-less animals lined up for me to kill, well them, I may be interested in that game....
I was pumped for this game until I realized the game had no AI.
Seriously, if the game had good AI, I might actually get it. It's a very interesting concept. I just don't see me spending any amount of money on a punching bag simulator.
Shame it's on both consoles. I can't imagine the playerbase is really going to be big enough on either to maintain a strong online presence for long. If it was exclusive to either I'd have a little more faith in online staying active for longer.
Eh well, still a must-buy for me once I know which console has a more active online for it.
I had fun playing the demo on my psp... but that's about it. This looks like it's on the ps2, not a current gen system. It'll probably sell a lot in Japan though.
This game looks infinitely boring. Very static, very much spam button into something falls. I never liked Dynasty Warriors series because it lacked a certain realism, which is an army doesn't stand still and let you slaughter them without much fight. A giant creature in most games will at least give you a run for its money by trying to fight you. They looked like giant statues swiping at the ground in random intervals.
Hell yeah! This'll be awesome. As the ven diagram of people with PSPs and people who like Dynasty Warriors is basically me, I've not managed to play DW:SF multiplayer yet. Can't wait for this.
They have flying in, so hopefully they'll include that in the next DW: Gundam. This looks kind of fun as well, only that the animals look pretty passive for the most part.
I agree about the lack of online capabilties in Strikeforce. A serious oversight if you ask me. But OK on the console so us saddo Dynasty Warriors fans (all 10 of us) can enjoy tangling with over-sized tigers!

That said, it does look interesting, athough a giant tiger would not stand around waiting for you to kill it. That's just silly.
I got a few buddies to play with, but I need more 8D

I'm appalled and offended by Koei and plan to write a very angry letter, telling them how angry I am.
