Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 announced photo

Looks like Koei and Namco-Bandai enjoyed their collaboration on Dynasty Warriors Gundam so much that they're back for another go. Yep, the shameless conjunction of Koei's button-mashing and Bandai's massive robot suits will be returning to the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 this year.

Slated for a December 4 release, this sequel shouldn't really be surprising. Dynasty Warriors and Gundam are two absurdly popular franchises in Japan, so it makes sense to deliver more. Looks like I know what I'll be getting my hands on at the Koei booth at TGS, anyway (note to colleagues: Don't let me near the Koei booth or no work will get done.)

The original Dynasty Warriors Gundam was okay, but nothing spectacular. Maybe if they beef up the variety of attacks and work on balancing the game's difficulty a little better, the sequel will be much more enjoyable. Also, BURNING FINGER!

I liked Gundam. I liked Dynasty warriors. This pairing really didn't...grab me at all. I didn't like it. I was expecting a lot more than what I got, and if I know Koei, DW:G2 will just be more of the same :(.

Or maybe they'll use the Renbu combat system from DW:6? I'm hopeful for atleast that

I absolutely loved the first one, so this is great news for me. I'll buy just about anything with Gundams thrown in there, though, so I guess my judgment is a bit skewed.

Oh shit, Big Zam, Alpha Azieru, and Psycho Gundam (three huge mobile armors) are in this!? Quess Paraya's there, too, who is one of the most annoying anime characters ever created.

I really want to get these as I love Gundam and have watched a few of their series now. But yeah, its Koei. Their sequels are never anything new. Its why I gave up on Dynasty Warriors after 3. Besides, as Jim and others have pointed out, DW:Gundam is kind of lacking. Even for a beat em up.

Woo! I love Dynasty Warriors. I don't even know much about Gundam, but I had to get the first one because COME ON GIANT ROBOTS. It was awesomesauce, and so far the only game I've gotten 1000/1000 Gamerscore points on.

They better make the achievements harder this time around. MAX LEVEL FOR ALL MOBILE SUITS WITH ALL PILOTS, FERIZZLE
