Tecmo Koei has today officially announced Dynasty Warriors 7, the latest in Omega Force's endless hack n' slash series. Curiously, the big news is that Dynasty Warriors 7 (known as Shin Sangokumusou 6 in Japan) won't be a multiplatform release, instead announced as a PS3 exclusive.
Whether it's just a PS3-only game in Japan remains to be seen, though it would be weird for Koei to leave out the Xbox 360 when it launches in the rest of the world. Either way, there will be much more information on the game on October 26, when Tecmo Koei holds a special press event.
All I have to say is, OH GOD YES! More Dynasty Warriors is fine by me, and screw anyone who thinks otherwise!

This. I still thought it was a pretty good game, but the extra-simplified combo system and the amount of cloned characters really let it down.
The original Dynasty Warriors was a one-on-one fighting game. Once Dynasty Warriors 2 was released with a hack n' slash format, Koei treated it like the start of a new franchise, which is was. For some reason, Koei's Western counterpart includes the fighting game in the series.
The rest of the internet can skip this.
I actually enjoyed that Capcom demo of that Samuari game that plays like a DW game, have NO idea what it was called.
You're probably thinking of one of the Sengoku Basara games, or perhaps even the heavily localized first installment for PS2, Devil Kings.

Funny how every time something is announced as PS3 exclusive, it's acceptable for all the 360 fanboys and Journos to cry about how it's not on the 360, but if it were the other way around, nobody would bat an eye.

SW3 is Wii-exclusive, btw, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this sticks. But still...

Agreed, when customers ask me which system to buy between PS3 and Xbox 360, if online service or reliability history (read: RROD/YLOD) aren't a concern then I answer "Choose based on which exclusives you or whoever you're buying it for prefer."
