Dynasty Warriors 7: A little look at EX Attacks photo

As if in answer to my fears that Dynasty Warriors 7's new sub-weapon system would remove a measure of individuality from the game's 70+ characters, Tecmo Koei has dribbled out a few screens revealing some EX Attacks.

EX Attacks are unique moves unlocked by each character when equipped with their weapon of choice. From the looks of things, they'll be one off attacks that work similarly to the unique shoulder-button moves debuted in Warriors Orochi

It's still unclear if each character will get their own move based on their starting weapon, or if it's a pool of moves separated into clumped weapon types. Time will tell, I suppose.

Also, this game is the biggest cultural event since Alien Ant Farm.

i'm just glad to play Da Qiao again. Now Just waiting on Pang De's return, some hint that Cheng Pu is playable, and Gan Ning's flashy ass return.

Now I'm not against this system or anything, but could developers stop calling every special move 'EX attacks'? It's in just about every fighting game now.

Yes, I am truly looking forward to this and your review. I've been playing DW5: Empires just to soften my anticipation for DW7 to a minor cataclysmic event. =) Kudos for being one of the few writers who still talk about this series.

Is that Xiahou Dun with both of his eyes?

Darckcloud:

Yep. There are character models for him with both an eyepatch and with two eyes.

I think its pretty cool. I don't remember when exactly in the books Xiahou Dun lost his eye but its was a good way in. I like that they have a before and after.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet, SW/WO always had the better combat, I do hope they're taking some systems from those over into this for once.

Hizzuh, nice to know there is some incentive to using the characters' intended weapons. I was going to try to stick to keeping them using their own stuff anyway just because giving everyone Lu Bu's weapon would get boring fast, but it's good to know this way we'll be getting a little extra out of it.

Fuck it I justw ant this to come out already, struggle to maintain coherent thought when DW is around.

Look's cool I hope they make the enemy troops tough like in DW3 such as the annoying major's& guard's classes because the soldiers in the recent games in the series are ridiculously easy.
