Make no mistake, I am bloody narked off that Koei decided to fill Dynasty Warriors 6 with cloned characters and is now making a PlayStation 2 version of the game with de-cloned warriors, but I am such a sucker for Zhang He that the return of his claws is enough to squeeze some forgiveness from me.
Below are the current CG renders of "de-cloned" characters with unique weapons that didn't appear in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of the game. As well as Zhang He getting his claws back, Cao Pi sports a new sword, Ling Tong's nunchucks have returned, while Ma Chao now has what I like to call "the stupidly big anime sword of bigness."
Also, to save some time, feel free to copy and paste this pre-written comment as a response to this news piece:
How is this a news post? Dynasty Warriors sucks it is like Madden and I don't care about this post. I don't care so much about this post I am going to make a comment about this post telling you I don't care about this post. Also, it only uses one button.
You can thank me for saving your keyboard from wear-and-tear later. As for the three percent of us who actually care, is any of the DW fanbase interested in this? It's very obvious that Koei knows DW6 was incomplete in its current-gen form and is only finishing it off for the PlayStation 2 version. Not cool at all in my book ... but those claws look so good.
[Thanks, Koei Warriors]

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, I wonder how much the PS2 version will cost. I'm thinking somewhere around 50 clams.
At least we'll have Warriors Orochi 2?
not going back to the PS2 version of DW/SW series. I'll wait patiently and play SW2/XL.
Delicious Ginchiyo...
Also, cocks.
You'd think with hard drives they'd release this as a Xtreme Legends expansion, without stupid disc swapping.
I don't get why Ma Chao gets a big sword, I like him as a spear wielder who kicks ass on a horse. Give the big ass sword to Guan Ping.
Also, dude looks like a lady.
I jumped on board the DW bandwagon with the 360 version for DW6, and now you're telling me that everything I know is wrong? I have Lu Bu at his level cap for god sakes! I am NOT going back and playing this in blocky low-res on my HDTV... sign me up for the Orochi Warriors 2 beta test, plzthxbye.
fair call though, it is pretty much the epitome of 'push X to win'.
But unless us who bought the fancier version get our characters updated, THIS IS LAME! I mean, how did Zhang He with a spear even get past development?

Just like shmups.
Which are popular.
This really just frustrates me to no end. It just boggles my mind that they would do a better version on an old system. must be two seperate teams doing the version
Wonder if this will actually see a release outside of Japan. They did this with Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and that stayed Japan-only to my knowledge.
He uses a Spear, Motherfuckers!
*sob*
Actually my character of choice is Xiahou Dun. I'm a sucker for eyepatches and scimitars.
And yes, this better be DLC. I've put too many hours into levelling up my guys in the 360 version to have to start over on the PS2.
