Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires gets US release and some pictures photo

Humanity's most ambitious societal accomplishment since Dexy's Midnight Runners, otherwise known as Dynasty Warriors, will be getting its billionth installment very soon. Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires is hitting the United States on June 23, and every single gamer in America is dead excited for it, all well proper happy n' that.

Empires brings a tactical side to the button mashing franchise, allowing players to become either a lowly officer or grandiose ruler and attempt to unite China under one banner. The movesets from Dynasty Warriors 6: Special on the PS2 will be appearing, and the create-a-character mode from DW4 will be making its triumphant return.

It has nothing to do with Queensrÿche.

Burlingame, CA - May 18, 2009 - KOEI, recognized worldwide as the premier brand of strategy and action games, today announced that DYNASTY WARRIORS®6: Empires for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system will be available at North American retailers beginning June 23, 2009.

Gamers can pre-order DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires now at: Amazon.com, GameFly and GameStop.

About DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires
Designed for the legions of Dynasty Warriors fans, DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires is game that brings together the best aspects of the action and strategy genres. In this latest edition, players can experience Ancient China’s greatest and most glorious war as an all-powerful lord or as an officer.

As a lord, gamers must think strategically. By deciding when to attack, when to resist invasion, or when to initiate policies, a lord can expand their power and influence. An easy-to-learn “card collecting” system lets players enact policies that will increase their empire’s strength, improve the abilities of their forces, and more. The cards that a player receives will depend on the attributes of the officers and their army.

Players can also pledge their allegiance to a kingdom to become an officer. As an officer, players can suggest policies in the kingdom’s war council, complete missions for rewards, or even turn against their ruler should relations sour.

Most eagerly awaited by fans is a game mode that allows players to create their own warrior. DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires features an extensive character editing system with options to customize a warrior’s gender, build, skin tone, facial features, voice, clothing, weapon and more.

Whomever players choose to be, they can now use mountain ledges and waterways to infiltrate enemy bases and launch surprise attacks on supply depots to change the flow of battle.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires is developed by Omega Force and is for 1 to 2 players (offline). This game is rated “T” (TEEN – Alcohol Reference, Violence) by the ESRB. For more information, visit www.koei.com.

each new addition of this game looks more and more like it's predecessor. and that's why it's beautiful.

If they really tried their best to release a good game and make use of the (generally wasted) potential of the series, I might be interested.

I sincerely doubt this will happen.

I fucking love the "Empires" versions of DW games. So much better than the originals. Hopefully "create a character" is still available in this one. I also hope they added the x,x,y type combos back instead of just mash "x" the entire time.

i've never played the empires series but how Sterling and others say it's a rather awesome break from the original games kinda makes me want to go for it. Plus I want to try out the "real" movesets for the ones changed.

in the meantime, I need Pang De, Da Qiao, and Jiang Wei to return in DW7. Along with some new faces (coughchengpucough)

Well, I'm very much looking forward to some of the new changes to this title. My husband and I play all of DW/SW/DW:G games together. But I never could get into Empires as well. This one though has plenty of new stuff that I want to give it another go. Especially so fresh off finally finishing the 1000 achievement points for DW6.

The heroes make cutting down mooks by the hundreds so easy. How do they do it?

I pre-ordered this the first day Gamestation allowed so and every release of new information has me more excited than the last, bounding around the room in chimp-like fashion.

Yeah I'm pretty looking forward to this.

Looking good! I was going to get DW6 after playing it with a friend, but thought I'd wait till Empires.

Then I got Bladestorm, and very happy with the strategic element... Not sure I'm ready for button mashing - though I'm a sucker for games letting me create my own character.
