Dungeon Keeper 2 & Wing Commander 1+2 are now on GOG photo

Dungeon Keeper 2 and Wing Commander 1+2 are the first two of eight EA classics being brought to Good Old Games. Both games can now be found on the classic PC game service for a mere $5.99.

It looks like Dungeon Keeper 2 is not the best version of the game out there, though, and people are complaining that it crashes a lot in Windows 7. So if you run Windows 7, perhaps it would be a good idea to wait and see for a bit.

Any guesses on what the remaining six EA classics are? I'm hoping for a Syndicate and Syndicate Wars pack myself, especially after the evil looks I got for asking EA reps at gamescom where the new Syndicate was.

Been trying to get DK2 working on Win7 for a long time now. It runs, but it still crashes after a while. Not sure if it will ever get worked out.

Can anyone tell me how this release of Wing Commander runs on Windows 7? I've had issues getting various incarnations behaving nicely in the past.

@Alekhs I am guessing that the 2 Wing Commanders run in DosBox. And that always worked great for me in the past (non gog versions) so I guess their version will also run just fine.

Please add DK2 to Steam, then I'll be happy for life.

EA, Just give the rights to another company/developer to create a worthy DK as yours is nothing like DK1 and a new one needs to be released. RTS role on!

@Luis Santander:
Have you gone mad? Why would you ever want a Steam DRMed version when you can get a DRM-free GOG version. I say fuck all DRM, even Steam.

I LOVE me some Steam, but I love GOG even more for the portability and lack of any sort of DRM whatsoever. Sounds like I might wait to see how DK2 pans out in Windows 7 before I pick it up since I just upgraded. :-\

From the gog.com product page: "Compatible with: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 & 64 bit)"

Don't complain when you buy a game without having read the system reqs, only to find it doesn't work because you're running a system that isn't compatible.

I may as well state right now that the copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution I just picked up is not the best version of the game out there, because it won't run on my Mac.

Oh wow, these are some real classics! Well maybe not Dungeon Keeper 2, it was alright but the original was the best. I much prefer GOG over Steam because Steam slows down my crappy laptop heh heh

If something is somehow able to run on ****ing Vista then it's amazing that W7 somehow has problems with it.

Are the Secret Missions / Expansions included with Wing Commander games? Speech packs?

Here's a question with those having problems with DK2 and Windows 7. Have you played it in XP Compatibility Mode? I'd think that'd be an easy fix, but maybe no one's thought of that yet.

@Quiotu - it's been tried. There's so many settings ideas out there, and still none of them work for very long.

@Kanten - When have Microsoft operating systems ever been backwards compatible?
