Duke Nukem: Next-Gen fan project is a go

Duke Nukem: Next-Gen (tentative title) is a fan-made reimagining of Duke Nukem 3D that uses the Unreal Engine 3 to give the Duke that modern-day grimy look. As with any project of this sort, there was concern as to whether or not Gearbox would allow it to go forward.

More often than not, it seems like fans put a tremendous amount of work into these things only to have the license holder in question send out a cease and desist. Thankfully, in this case, the group asked for -- and received -- permission in the early stages of development.

So, Duke Nukem: Next-Gen is officially happening. Hooray! Now we play the waiting game.
