Duke Nukem Forever devs had no idea E3 was coming

Duke Nukem Forever devs had no idea E3 was coming photo
     First Person Shooter

Last night, we reported on the rumor that Duke Nukem Forever would not be shown at E3 this year. In an unpredictable and crazy turn of events, vice president of 3D Realms Scott Miller has confirmed that the title will not be shown this year by blasting the outlet and its reach to Next-Gen:

It's just that we view E3 as irrelevant nowadays. In fact, I wasn't even aware it was coming up.

Someone should probably swing by 3D Realms' office and circle their calendar right fast. On another front, when asked how the development is going, Miller replied with this:

Development is swimming along nicely. Seriously nicely.

Is that a second confirmation that someone has actually touched a keyboard in conjunction with the development process within the last few weeks? I'm all for an awesome Duke Nukem experience, but these delays and quotes are a bit grating on the nerves after awhile. The fact that someone at 3D Realms is willing to talk, or show off the Duke, is validation that at least something is going on in the office. Whether it's baking cakes or developing, we may never know.

Honestly, I just want to interact with strippers in a FPS again. Please hurry, 3D Realms.

Also, I still want a new Shadow Warrior.

At this point, I don't care if it's good or not. I want to know if it exists. 3DRealms has crushed that dream as well.

Please stop crushing my dreams, 12 years of this shit is long enough. I've been waiting for a sequel to Duke3D since Grade 6. Grade fucking 6, I'm 23 now! What is going on?

I'm with you on the stripper part. Maybe it was because I was like under 10 years old, but I loved putting dollar bills in the strippers lingerie back in the day.

Holy shit, Rise of the Triad, I forgot all about that game. Used to play that a lot.

Nice Dr Milkdad. I know it has nothing to do with 3D Realms but I also want a new Blood. I also completely agree with you. I'm 24 now and this game still hasn't come out. LOL. The thing that worries me is that I feel that it DEFINITELY won't be worth the wait. But then again, after that many years, I don't think any game could ever be worth THAT long of a wait.

Moar Shadow Warrior, less Duke Nukem

True, at this point the only thing I can see anyone saying about this game is "seriously, we waited this long for THIS?" Could be a decent game, but won't justify the 12 years of development.

Also, YES, Blood is absolutely ridiculous and I would love to see a new one.

For a few weeks there was hope, now this is just getting ridiculous again. Why does 3DRealms hate gamers?

Like Dennen was saying, 10 Duke Nukem = irrelevant; 20 goto 10.

Oh man, I remember reading about E3 in PC Gamer and PC Zone. Seeing the latest in technology like Messiah or this RTS that could never work, StarCraft.

Now devs can't get away from its festering T&A-free corpse fast enough!

DNF is a Myth. Just like pop rocks and soda killing that Mikey kid, this games existence is fraudulent. I wish 3Drealms would stop teasing us.

3D Realms may be totally full of shit. But honestly I agree. I had no idea E3 was coming up either, and don't really care. See everyone at PAX =D.

I never liked this shit series. This game is going to launch in 2009 to a demographic that has no idea what Duke Nukem is, and see the trailers and think "early nineties cgi" and dismiss it for another piece of shit pc title that nobody wants, and they'll be right.

Those morons at 3D Realms have no idea about anything.

This game is their manifestation (well MAYBE, depending on if it even comes out) of what their idea is of failure. These guys are the biggest joke in the gaming industry.

why would anybody think this game would be at anything. I refuse to believe the game even exists until I can walk into a Best Buy and pick up a copy that has a price tag, pay for it, check out the reciept to verify its existance, open up the box to check the content inside, put it into a computer and boot it up, play through the first level, play through the second level, etc. etc. until the final level, beat the game, and then realize that this actually exists.

Manasteel88: How can you prove that you exist?

I feel truly alive only when I'm close to death. It's why I love boxing. It's how I know I'm still alive.

See that? Duke Nukem is so irrelevant we can actually be philosophical.
