Dtoid TV Weekend: What happened to Count Chocula?

12:00 PM on 05.04.2013 // Conrad Zimmerman

Check out our full schedule of live content!

As we do every weekend, there's a whole bunch of great live content happening this weekend on Dtoid TV. You will absolutely not want to miss Sean Velasco's triumphant return to Sup, Holmes?, where it's entirely likely there will be all sorts of juicy Shovel Knight tidbits to be learned.

But that's not what's on my mind this morning. No, I'm wondering what the hell happened to Count Chocula. I haven't had it in a couple of years now, it not being a product sold in stores near my home, so I was pretty excited about the four boxes of the stuff I ordered from Amazon last week (when it finally dawned on me that such a thing was possible).

I just had a bowl and this is not the cereal I remember. The cocoa balance has changed and it tastes far less sweet than it used to. I don't know if I even want to keep eating this stuff, but I've got the four boxes and an uncontrollable practicality which will make me suffer through. Oh, why can't the things I love just stay the same forever?

Check out our full schedule for the weekend:

All times are Pacific

10am - Saturday Morning Hangover
Conrad will try to turn Jordan on to his second favorite fishing game, Fishing Master: World Tour. And, as ever, Xbox Indie demos and a visit to Dafoeverse.

[Ease the pain from the night before with a little schadenfreude brought to you by Destructoid's Conrad Zimmerman, Jordan Devore and the lovely Katrina.]
12pm - Weekend Escape
Brett and Cait, clearly driven completely mad by this point, will be playing Pocketbike Racer. May God have mercy on their souls.

[Hang out with Destructoid Contributors Brett Zeidler and Caitlin Cooke as they play through entire games with a focus on co-op. It's a safe bet that Caitlin is probably going to get mad at Brett for everything at some point.]
4pm - Chill with Phil
Phil continues killing zombies in silly outfits as he continues his playthrough of Dead Rising.

[Philanthr0py hosts this relaxed show in which he performs full game (and series) playthroughs.]
8pm - Substituted Reality
Kill off your Saturday, and possibly a few brain cells, while AwDamn and Foom get their social on while diving into some Far Cry 3 co-op action..

[Destructoid's only PC-exclusive gaming show, Substituted Reality showcases a wide variety of games with a particular focus on first-person shooters. Hosted by the lovely, off-beat, AwDamn.]

1pm - Sup, Holmes?
Come hang out and join in on the conversation as Jonathan Holmes interviews amazing people from all sides of the gaming industry. This week, he will be joined by Shawn Velasco of Yacht Club Games!

[Join Destructoid's most lovable Associate Editor, Jonathan Holmes, for interviews with his friends in the game industry. Participate in the live chat and get your questions answered]

4pm - Rad Show: Get There!
The Rad Show crew celebrates Cinco de Mayo by returning to Red Dead Redemption and inviting you to join the fun.

[Starring Johnny Luchador, Super Fantastic Videogame Rad Show: Get There! takes a lighthearted approach to gaming, with the guys usually focusing more on breaking games for ridiculous results than accomplishing feats of skill.]
8pm - Substituted Reality
AwDamn ends the weekend right by taking you back to the eighties with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

[Destructoid's only PC-exclusive gaming show, Substituted Reality showcases a wide variety of games with a particular focus on first-person shooters. Hosted by the lovely, off-beat, AwDamn.]
