Dtoid TV Weekend: Splinter Cell, Half-Life and more

11:45 AM on 03.02.2013 // Conrad Zimmerman

Tune in to Dtoid TV for all your live gaming needs

We are once again heading into the breach to bring you a weekend of great live content over on Dtoid TV. This week's offerings include the continuation of Phil's run through the entire Devil May Cry series on Chill with Phil, while AwDamn progresses further in Half-Life 2 on Substituted Reality. You'll also want to check out some Splinter Cell shenanigans from the Rad Show gang and Dr. Crux will be firing up one of my all-time favorite PSOne classics, the morbidly delightful MediEvil.

It all starts right now with me and Jordan Devore on Saturday Morning Hangover, bringing you the week's Xbox Indie demos, taking you on a magical journey to the Dafoeverse and then a special, surprise running game in honor of the release of Bit.Trip Presents: Runner 2. Come and join us and the goons in the live chat right now on Dtoid TV!

Check out our full schedule for the weekend:

All times are Pacific

10am - Saturday Morning Hangover
The gang celebrates Bit.Trip Runner 2 with a different, surprise running game. And, as ever, Xbox Indie demos and a visit to Dafoeverse.

[Ease the pain from the night before with a little schadenfreude brought to you by Destructoid's Conrad Zimmerman, Jordan Devore and the lovely Katrina.]
12pm - Weekend Escape
Come hang out with Brett this afternoon as he plays some games, chats with you, and shows some off some animated pandas. Hype! One of these days we'll have some info on what they're playing, ... I swear.

[Hang out with Destructoid Contributors Brett Zeidler and Caitlin Cooke as they play through entire games with a focus on co-op. It's a safe bet that Caitlin is probably going to get mad at Brett for everything at some point.]
4pm - Chill with Phil
Phil continues his epic journey through the entire Devil May Cry series. Every DmC game, full playthroughs of each one, live. Today Phil continues Devil May Cry 4.

[Philanthr0py hosts this relaxed show in which he performs full game (and series) playthroughs.]
8pm - Substituted Reality
Kill off your Saturday, and possibly a few brain cells, while AwDamn gets the community together for some Ghost Recon Online

[Destructoid's only PC-exclusive gaming show, Substituted Reality showcases a wide variety of games with a particular focus on first-person shooters. Hosted by the lovely, off-beat, AwDamn.]

1pm - Sup, Holmes?
Come hang out and join in on the conversation as Jonathan Holmes interviews amazing people from all sides of the gaming industry. Today he will be joined by Vander Caballero, designer of Papo y Yo.

[Join Destructoid's most lovable Associate Editor, Jonathan Holmes, for interviews with his friends in the game industry. Participate in the live chat and get your questions answered]

3pm - Retroactive
Crux will be helping Sir Daniel Fortesque save the kingdom of Gallowmere in the PSOne classic MediEvil.

[On Retroactive, join Dr. Crux as he plays through a variety of retro classics. Come for the gameplay, stay for the snarky banter. Dr. Crux is not a medical doctor.]

6pm - Rad Show: Get There!
The guys will venture into unfamiliar territory by trying to keep a low profile in Splinter Cell: Conviction.

[Starring Johnny Luchador, Super Fantastic Videogame Rad Show: Get There! takes a lighthearted approach to gaming, with the guys usually focusing more on breaking games for ridiculous results than accomplishing feats of skill.]
8pm - Substituted Reality
Awdamn will help you finish your weekend off right as he progresses through Half-Life 2 Episode 1. Watch for headcrabs!

[Destructoid's only PC-exclusive gaming show, Substituted Reality showcases a wide variety of games with a particular focus on first-person shooters. Hosted by the lovely, off-beat, AwDamn.]

I really hope Xenoblade become it's own franchise, it has way too much potential to simply being reduced to 2 games.

Touchable Holograms? When this eventually matures and hits market, almost all our regulars will vanish for weeks.

Xenoblade Chronicles Wii for €10? Sure, Nintendo, don't mind if I do!

Super Smash Bros. 4 has too much content. So much so I almost don't want a sequel. I honestly hope that NX gets a "Super Smash Bros. For NX" port rather than a new installment. It could be a GOTY edition and come with all of the DLC.

Bought my first full-priced physical 3DS game ever - New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward. I'll try to write a post on the previous game at some point before doing the same with NSB2.

How do you guys manage to buy all these games at day 1 with such huge backlogs?

Guys if I were to do a thing, how many of you would watch my thing because I was thinking of doing a thing but I dunno if people really like that kinda thing so I just wanted to know if you liked that thing because I'm thinking of doing a thing, you know?

Bayonetta 2 is 40% off in the EU Nintendo eShop today. If you have a WiiU and don't have this game you are a horrible person and I want nothing to do with you. You can amend your errors by buying it. Xenoblade Wii is also 50% off as well.

My dreams are really weird and scary, so I hope it's okay if I let them be dreams.

Finally played the last two Shantae games. Risky's Revenge wasn't bad, but Pirate's Curse was damn good.

Memo to self: spend your time cleaning before wasting ten or so hours on a cblog you'll end up just scrapping because you're incompetent and incapable of writing on the subject.
Is there an occupation out there for people who want to give up and not worry about shit for a while until they can recompose themselves before going back into society?

That test was pretty raw. Some decisions cut deep, some I didnt care for at all. But im satisified with the end result.

People are having serious anthropological discussions about video games and here I am reminding people that they have one more day to get a dumb card I painted:
