No Apparent Reason Parties -- NARPs for short -- are a long standing tradition here at Destructoid. NARPs are parties hosted by Dtoiders for Dtoiders and everyone is welcome to attend a party. It's about playing games and interacting with other people all in the name of having a good time.
According to Jonathan Coulton, the month of May brings interesting outdoor recreational activities. In the same spirit of the month, Dtoid Regional Groups from all over the world are making plans to meetup at various events for gaming, movies, and all around great times. As a community, Dtoid just keeps growing, as the community is hoping to reintroduce two new groups, Dtoid Southeast and Dtoid Toronto.
Read on below to see what NARPs are happening in the Midwest, New York, Australia and elsewhere!
This month, members of Dtoid Australia will be going to the usual Mana Bar trivia nights, as well as having a movie night at the house of BLiz in honor of Zombie Awareness month. However, they will also be attending a Miss Burlesque show which seems awesome!
Be sure to follow Dtoid Australia on Twitter and Facebook as well as check out the Google group for details of these events and much more!
Dtoid New York is headed to Blipfest 2011! The guys in DtoidNY call Blipfest one of the largest gatherings of the year, and this year is extra special. For the first time, Dtoider Zen Albatross will be performing during the festival, so you should totally go out and support him!
More information can be found in the emailer, so check it out!
It may not technically be in May, but this is one epic NARP and one that needs planning. In June, Jon Bloodspray will be hosting the Midwest NARP 2011. Word on the blog-o-sphere is that the NARP last year was too epic for words. So if you live in the area, or even just want to fly out to visit, let them know!
The month of May brings the semi-annual BaltiNARP at Procyon's house. This gathering will boast at least 7 TV's and monitors with lost of classic games. Changston might even be on hand with some of his amazing cooking!
That's all for this month! Make sure to check our our city group post from earlier this month for a list of a couple established community groups. More and more keep springing up, so if your area isn't represented, and you'd be interested in heading a group, email me at [email protected]

I'll need to ask for a credit line increase, but sure, why not?Nathan D Hnnnggg. My End of Evangelion video I made like 2 years ago has almost 700,000 views. I never thought it'd get this far. It was the first video I ever made and just did it for fun. Guess I have an eye for editing and an ear for music placement.
gajknight I want to listen to classical music. But I'm in a funky mood right now. The solution?SeymourDuncan17 Been watching Better Call Saul, being a pretty big fan of Breaking Bad, and it's been pretty decent. Like a b-side to BB. But, this scene with Trevor (GTAV)-famous Steven Ogg has been my highlight. There's more to it before this, but it's the best part. Parismio Whens the racist Wakka animation?:SeymourDuncan17 Well, wherever you are, Human...jak2364 ...Well, nice to know I could improve a game I didn't take a survey on!SeymourDuncan17 jak2364 ...Does Ubisoft let their employees do drugs before they write surveys? It really seems like it. "The progression of the main character (skills) in the game should be adapted" Can anyone tell me what the hell that's supposed to mean?FakePlasticTree I always thought the anime Baccano felt like something out of Guy Richie or Tarantino--then someone made the intro of Snatch with the opening theme from Baccano playing over it. Two of my favorite things together and it fits beautifully. I love it <3Dr Mel I just need something to do for 5 minutes before I got to leave. *checks Dtoid Quickposts* .... SHIT, 15 mintues!Dreamweaver Weird nerdy confession: I actually wrote, and got HEAVILY invested in, Pokemon fan fiction. It was based on a RP Story I did on The Escapist forums, and featured a love story between a Squirtle and a Miltank. To this day, Miltank still gets me aroused. :PSayWord Spending time with your significant other, or playing with Nep Nep? I choose you Neptune! =P SpaghettiOReilly And when I said "as" I meant "this." The funk has ruined my mind.SpaghettiOReilly It's been ages since I've been as addicted to a game. That changed yesterday. I can't stop playing Crypt of the Necrodancer. Send help. My hands hurt.JPF720 As I'm back to studying, I can't help but recall that while it took me a week to read 10 pages of psychology theory I managed to read an analysis on Killer7's plot, that was 100 pages long, in a day. Good times.
