Nintendo showed off this trailer during the Fall Press Conference where we get to see the DSi and the new games coming out for the DS. Among the shots of the DSi and games, we see the new pedometer that was revealed earlier in the week.

As far as the games go, we see a mix of games that are just coming out, games that we’ll see later on and games we’ll never see here (officially) in America. The previews are pretty short, but some of the games in the trailer include Professor Layton 3, a new Wario Ware, something that looks like Mario Paint, Kingdom Hearts, a game that looks to use the Miis and give Miyamoto the scary K.K. Slider voice, and best of all, a new Mario & Luigi game!

Once you’re done checking out the trailer, head on over to the official Nintendo DSi product page that talks about the new handheld. It’s all in Japanese, but there are pretty pictures to help you figure things out.

So how about it, Dtoiders? Do you like the new DSi or hate it? Tell us what you think about it in the comments!

Looks like they're changing up gameplay for the Miles Edgeworth:Perfect Prosecutor.

The biggest problem I have with this is the fact that it is basically the same hardware, with a few additions that are really nice, and developers will use it. But all those people who bought a DS (like me) need to buy another one... unless they decide to release some DS addons that will give us the same functionality.

I am most definately going to be getting this. Im just a whore for the DS. I do hope, games wise, that they dont put too much emphasis on using the new features because this would really fuck over people who havent got the money to get a new Ds or just dont want to.

It just occured to me that because this will have an SD slot and access to a online store they might allow you to play VC games on it and buy VC games for it. Perhaps even introducing the gameboy and gameboy advance into the VC. Obviously on the Snes, NES etc. games would work with the control system but it would be a major selling point in my opinion if they did this.

I knew this would happen. I got the original DS, two months later, the lite was announced. I finally break down and get a lite and two months later this DSi is announced. I wonder if this will work with certain storage cards?

Interestingly... Japanese, lol. I saw about 4 games I wanted to play, and 10 others that made me go, "WUT? Haha!" Some of those games are so random, its awesome.

THE SCREENS ARE SLIGHTLY BIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe that wasn't in the title. That's the feature I wanted most and they sorta came through. Can't believe this wasn't mentioned in the TITLE.

Well, my DS Lite just developed the hinge crack and I was considering replacing it. Guess I'll what until the DSi is released.

I'll probably get one for the online service. But I'll keep my DS Lite; NeoDS is too great to leave behind.

Just stamp a Final Fantasy on the side of one, call it Special and I'll buy it.

Looks cool. I'm happy enough with my DS lite for the moment though. I might change my tune when developers start taking advantage of the fancy new features.

@error2k2:
"Was that a new Mario and Luigi game I saw there?"

Looks like Super Mario RPG 2 if you ask me.

@Master Foot:
I think that's the idea - some games will use the new features (probably as gimmicks for the first year or so), but the basic hardware is still the same so that people like you don't HAVE to buy a new system to play new games. They don't want to start over, they want to expand.

My guess is that this is all about a DS VC. Here's hoping that they let us transfer between the Wii and DSi (yeah, right).

I have about a dozen DS games I need to buy already and this just adds more to the list. No matter how sketchy they get with the Wii I can always find stuff to look forward to on the DS.

Should I still get a DS? When will it be released?

I am VERY impressed. I just got a DS Lite after trading my old one, and I'm already thinking about getting this.

Let me get this straight--they want me to trade my GBA slot for a camera and audio player that doesn't play mp3s (due to licensing dealies, I've read), when my digital camera and PSP can already do those things better? I'll pass, Fox.

I am looking forward to the new WarioWare and Mario & Luigi, though.

The new DS looks cool I will admit that but I'm not sure about the removal of the GBA slot, even today I still play my GBA games as much as I play my DS games.

I'm not gonna lie. I want one. I've got TWO DSs already, (and two GBAs, and a Game Boy Player for my GameCube...), I won't miss the GBA slot.

I'm not sure, I'll probably get it sooner or later, maybe when the first "special limited edition" DSi bundle comes out, but for now I'm doing fine with my DS lite.

Whoa, what game is that at 2:58?

Is it a new IP, cause I've never seen a format like that save for the Tales of and Draglade series.

Anyone interested to know, it seems to have support for SD Media allowing AAC audio at the very least. There is also a camera software suite with some minor manipilation tools such as blurring and foreground/background effects. Really looking forward to more info about SD media support and possible audio/video format support.

I'm actually really excited for the DSi for its compact size and brighter screen. I don't mind upgrading my original DS -

I'm glad Nintendo isn't MAKING us buy a new system, it's pretty much optional at this point.
