DS TV? Sure enough, Japan has thought of it photo

If Japan can conceive of a peripheral for the DS, it likely exists, hence this kooky new TV tuner for the DS. It releases on November 20th for the Japanese market at a price of $6800 yen (about $60).

No more details are available at the moment, but even this tidbit sets my mind twirling with possibilities. Is a Tivo DS adapter simmering in the mind of a Japanese man as we speak? Could I record and watch Heroes on my DS? Or would it only transmit Japanese television signals, therefore forcing me to watch only Otter Acrobatics As Performed By Harajuku Lolitas?

DS has an opera browser right?

see if slingbox runs in opera browser.

then you can get yo dvr on from your DS.

be really cool if someone scripted a custom DS interface that put your shows on the top screen and the remote on the bottom.

Dude!

Now that it's a TV, maybe they'll come out with a peripheral that will let me play my 360 on my DS. That'd be sweet!

Yeah, you can totally do that. You could do it right now, all you have to do is... um ...

Yeah they need to get a digital input on that. Did you all see on the news about how in 2009 Analog signals will no longer be used at all and everything will use a Digital signal for TV. No static.

...TurboExpress? I have never heard of that product before. I assume it was craptacular?

It was the mini version of the TurboGrafx 16. It had what they call a 'limited userbase.' Similar to the Atari Jaguar, the thing is now a virtual legend.
Honestly though, what is people's obsession with watching TV on 1.5 inch screens? Every ad for such things seems to have soccer games on it, so maybe if I watched sports I'd be able to focus on tiny moving objects with no resolution. Seriously though, between these things, cellphone TV, video iPods - apparently there's some huge market for DESTROYING THE VISION of technophiles worldwide.
Whatever happened to radio?

Do not want, i don't even watch TV in my house, why would i want to watch it on a tiny screen with a lot less choices of things to watch than cable?

@Twiggy Whatever happened to radio?

Last I heard video killed it <.<

I'm not sure, i think they killed the stars first and then radio, but then quickly replaced it with a not so cool clone and that's what it is today.
