I'm sure a lot of people will jump on this deal if for no other reason than they can just get an R4 and have a cheap little emulation machine.
Now, if they dropped the price of the Mario DS games as well, I'd be all over that... my copy of Mario Kart was stolen weeks after it came out, and I've been wanting to repurchase it ever sense, but I can't warrant spending a total of 70 dollars on the game.
Easier to find? How bout a fucking price drop? Mario Kart should not still cost $35, 5 years later, nor should any of those.
Retailers sitting on existing stock slap their foreheads and groan collectively in Nintendo's direction.
Now, how about Nintendo dropping the price of DSis and XLs to like $140 or $150? I mean, I already have an XL, but still...

I believe this is just to clear out the remainder of the DS Lites, as they've stopped production on them and only make 3DS and DSi now.
Some Mario games also get new packaging in June, as shown in the image above. Nintendo says that six Mario games will get red packaging,

I agree, but I imagine that MKDS is still $35 because it's one of the most worthwhile titles to own on the DS. Just like how Brawl is still $50. Wish it weren't so, but that's how it is.

It's worth having a DS lite if only to play the old GBA games. I will never get rid of mine, I would miss having Yoshi's Island on the go.
I can only assume they're changing the game boxes to red because they had left over red plastic from their deal with their manufacturers from the Mario anniversary and figured "why they hell not" otherwise I don't get the necessity for change, specially when people seem to freak out when their cases don't fit their collection (which I assume Nintendo had to have seen at some point -like when Microsoft changed their case styles)
I think by now, anyone interested in MKDS probably has it already. I'd probably buy NSMB if they dropped the price, just for the portability, but I see no reason to pay $35 for it, when I own the superior NSMBW. These should all get some sort of "Select" pricing ($19.99)...

I refuse to trade in for a DSi in light of the fact that it can't play GBA games. Never understood why that "upgrade" actually provides LESS FUNCTIONALITY. I mean, it has the store and camera, but I'd much rather be able to still play my old GBA games. (And migrate 3rd gen Pokemon to Platinum!)

I bought a new ds lite 6 months ago for 130 bucks oh well. I think the 6 months of fun I had with it so far were worth the extra 30 bucks.

Rereleasing Mario 64 DS is a bit rich. They should be putting on 3DS instead where you'll actually be able to control the thing with the analog pad.
