DS gets a vibrator and it looks absolutely ridiculous photo

If you feel that your portable gaming lacks rumble, you might want to hold out until something better than this comes along. What you're looking at is the "SmartStylus" -- it's a stylus for your DS, except it looks like one of those giant novelty pencils that your gran buys for you on holiday. Oh, it also vibrates, apparently.

We briefly featured it yesterday, but here's a picture of the monstrosity. As you can see, it may very well be nature's cruelest mistake.

The SmartStylus is designed to add vibration feedback "based on movements and commands in the game." It will come in two models, with the SmartStylus 2 including some form of motion control, LEDs and sound effects. You know, just in case you felt like you didn't look stupid enough with the SmartStylus 1.

Quite how this will work is anybody's guess, but my money is on it not working at all. It also looks like it'll ruin your touch screen, but I believe they'll be throwing that special feature in for free.

Is it really that fucking huge? Or is that picture just an odd perspective?

Because you can't stick that as easily in any hole or make nice DSi vibrator games for? Durp.

eternalplayer2345: DSi's lack of a GBA slot = no rumble pack support. Somebody somewhere thought this would be a good idea. They were very wrong. LOL

Finally.

I'm so sick of having to play my DS sitting on top of the washing machine.

is that why they call it a 'smart' stylus?

anyway should be very useful for throwing around when frustrated instead of your entire DS...if you're one of those people.

Also, i wonder what will this do with Zelda:track spirits...if its gonna be vibrating all the time that will feel more like a train wreck...hence you will end up doing what i have aforementioned.

I really cant see rumble working on any handheld console as it would probably feele like someone poking your console. That and it would be easy to drop it

I'll put $10 on the table that says this thing weighs more than the DS lite.

Yeesh, they should've taken a chapter from those guys who made the tilt dealy for the PS2 (specifically, the one titled "Whoops, It's Too Late To Do This").
