Driver: San Francisco trailer shows off multiplayer fun

5:00 AM on 08.05.2011

Here is a new Driver: San Francisco trailer which highlights three of the 11 online multiplayer modes: Tag, Shift Racing and Takedown.

Tag is pretty much what it sounds like (if you're "it" then hit someone else and they're "it.") Takedown seems to be in a similar vain (one player has to avoid having their car ruined while everyone else has to try and takedown that player.) What really has me interested is the Shift Racing which is based around the games Shift mechanic.

Shift Racing has you shifting between any of the games 120 plus cars in order to either get ahead of the opposition or to mess up your opposition by shifting into an oncoming car and ploughing into them and then shifting out into another car while they are busy crashing. Straight up racing games aren't usually my passion, but the Shift twist is enough for me to want to see how this game handles come release.

Despite several delays, Driver: San Francisco is set to be released in the US on September 6 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows and Mac.
