Dress up your NXE Avatars for the new year: New clothes available photo

Thank God -- and not a moment too soon -- Microsoft has released a handful of new clothing for your Xbox LIVE Avatars.

According to Major Nelson, "It's almost New Years, and that means some new Avatar clothes!" Was anyone expecting this, really? Who cares, though? It's free! Here's what's new:

For the guys:
Pixel Art Hoodie
Rave Baseball Cap
Dark Purple Jeans
Green Skinny Fit Jeans
Pink Sweat Bands

For the gals:
Green Chunky Ring
Red Chunky Ring
Yellow Fingerless Gloves
Blue Fingerless Gloves
Chunky Beaded Bracelet
Day-glo Zebra Print Pumps
Rave Baseball Cap

The new wardrobe selections are very 80s, which is what we can expect in 2009, apparently. You guys excited, or what?

Now if they can just release a new free app called "House" where your avatar can run around and see other avatars and show off their clothes and finely crafted faces.

FACES!

You people make me sick.

Call me when the guy avatars can wear girl clothes and vice versa. In fact ask them that nick if you ever get the chance.

you know... thats funny. I was thinking the same thing eternalplayer.

I was really impressed when the guys and girls could have access to the exact same face and hair...but its still not a perfect world. i can understand chest slots because of bobs and all that, but everything else...

If only that optimism could be shared about Home. :)

I don't know why, but I really fucking hate all of this avatar bullshit.

It was funny with the Wii cos you were trying to make crude representations of your friends, but now they are like...all serious and shit, it's just sucked the fun out of them and turned them in to virtual barbie dolls that you dress up and walk around your little model house.

I don't know, I'm not trying to rip on people that like this sort of thing, just spouting some thoughts.

Yeah, I like all the avatars but... all the free content they have releaed so far seem... ok. They have a chance to put something out cool, like something that they could reference to their biggest titles or new ones coming out... but i have yet to see any clothes with any type of gaming articles on them. :[

These things aren't made to interest gamers though. They are meant to attract people who can easily be won over with something like the avatar, and it's fashionable wardrobe.

It would be nice if they would include some Mjolnir armor for them in Halo Wars, and other themed outfits from various games.
