It would be doing fine if, yes, they added a fuckton more words. It also do better if the game had a point of some type beyond being a microtransactions medium. Even if you don't go that route and earn all the unlocks after that you... What?
A game with one mode of gameplay and no win scenario isn't going to last long.
Perhaps they can squeeze some extra life out by highlighting artists of skill or players using interesting approaches to communicating concepts?

I paid the 99c or whatever it is to get more words... and didn't really seem to notice any more words. I guess both players have to buy it to get the upgrade? I dunno. My thumbs are too fat anyway.

I remember the day I installed Draw Something, and then uninstalled it 30 seconds later because of its horribly designed interface and the fact that I don't actually play cell phone games with friends.
I had direwolf the other day. Geeked out a little. I had twenty games going three weeks ago. Now only 3 respond.
Inevitable, duh.
And considering that this is a social based game that is impossible to play alone, it can only go down. I'm beginning to lose interest as well since some of my friends stopped playing.

My wife played Draw Something on her Android phone. The bandwidth it used was ludicrous. Its been uninstalled.
THIS is exactly why I cannot agree with the "Portable games are too expensive, cause I can buy a phone game for $1" argument.
These games are $1 (at least the paid version, which I bought) - because they are generally shallow and have a limited playtime.
Did I get my 79p worth of fun? - Fuck yeah!
Would i recommend other people get it? - Sure!
Would I consider it a very clever, yet simple game - Of Course!
Did I get bored and stop playing completely after a week - YUP!
Would i rather have it than almost any Vita/3DS/PSP game? - FUCK NO!

If Zynga spent $200 million on Draw Something without a plan to get at least a follow-up out of them then they're retarded. I think they've done too well to actually be that retarded but I guess it's possible.
Played for two days, then between repeat words and people just writing 3 coin words out to farm for new colors, I quit. They needed to add more words, consider new modes, and provide other incentives. In the end, anyone could have seen this coming. The mobile market is fickle. Here one day, gone the next. They should have given all the words to both paid for and free customers with the only distinction between getting an ad-free version and bonus coins. Oh well, nothing of lasting value was truly lost.

Draw Something is only as interesting as the people you play with. Most people are boring and stupid, and can't draw for shit, and in a couple days they will get bored of drawing a stick figure with a penis in its mouth for "Elton."
That said, I love draw something, because I play with clever people who can make good drawing that are also clever clues and it's fun.
Get the word "Taxi?" Don't draw a yellow car, draw a blood-spattered Travis Bickle.
Get the word Sister? Don't draw a little girl, draw Dee Snider in full makeup.
Get the word Doctor? Don't draw a guy with a stethoscope, when you can choose from Doom, Robotnik, Fad, or Claw.

What! But iOS games are much cheaper and therefore BETTER than console games! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?
Yeah it kept me entertained for about a week. Got a bunch of friends and my siblings into it...then all of the sudden I hated it. :P
Still playing it with a few friends but mostly because I enjoy drawing and much like Frogacuda said, we try and keep it interesting by not drawing exactly what the word is but thinking about how we can interpret that word through an awesome drawing.
Or maybe..just bear with me here, but maybe...people just saw the zynga logo and got too disgusted to play the game! I can only hope.
Any one else wish that they've lost so much BECAUSE Zynga pick them up? That'd be some funny shit to find out right there.

By the way, they add words to it all the time. Like, by the hundreds, on a regular basis. But they don't take the old words out so they're still going to pop up.
